Take Chestnut Trees out of the game?

I understand that you guys have tried fighting the 'botting battle' But im afraid your losing. There are always 2-3 noobs in bw selling unlimited amounts of gold, the price is as little as 3 pounds per mill!

Would it not just be easier to completely remove trees from the game? And maybe make up for it by making some new quests which can be done multiple times by any level?

Move the tree's to PB and who would harvest them for 500 gold a chestnut?
Unless you moved them to PB (Made them alot rarer, say like 5-10 per map) and then filter out existing chestnuts or introduce new types of chestnuts and bump up their prices.

I think a better idea would be to just completely remove them. I think the server is past the stage of people hunting chestnuts to scrape together enough gold for pots. The only people who use them are botters.

But you would have to find a way for new players to make gold... and id imagine however u do it is gunna cause people to bot.

Cant you IP bann botters u find?... its really easy to find.. just spend 10 mins in BW 10 in WW and not sure about mizu but id imagine its the same there too.

Maybe they could make a starter npc which gives out pots and basic kit (which cant be dropped) that new players can use untill say level 22.. IP bans dont really work nowa days. Its to easy to change your ip

This is a good idea.. Although, I have a feeling miming will be much more profitable once gems come out anyways.

Use the chestnut trees for a repeatable quest for lower levels. so instead of an instant drop they have to kill 'x' amount of trees and then go and retrieve their reward. I think that would be balanced tbh. (and maybe add a captcha like samual mentioned a while ago) for the end of the quest. That would totally eliminate botters surely

There are some great ideas in this thread, maybe a combo of some of the ideas like quest the trees for cash and increasing mining (but that can be botted).
We can also increase the cash from starter and repeatable quests.

As for the bots, I have ip banned, account banned, kicked, killed, made red, I even spent a few hours last week getting them all but they keep coming back (someone is buying from them to make it worth their while)

Whats the average level of the bots you finally ban?
make it so that level and below cannot trade gold. Or useTM or drop gold.
Can only use gold for pots and shop items..

Don't archers need them to farm the timber for their arrows? outside of that really I see no downside to removing them

As long as they make enough money for it to be worth the effort to get around any measures you take against them, i think the best you can hope to achieve is to keep their numbers down.

Timber can be bought from the essentials shop, so arrows would still be able to be made even if trees were taken out of game.

something needs to be sorted asap. can see 4 botters walking around mizu right now. so blatant. remove them completely at least until you find a viable solution. if people complain, im sure they would understand if you told them you were working on implementing them back into the game once you had found a fix against botters. there are botters literally running round mizu killing everything and selling junk to the shop. made a level 9 in 10 mins and ive made 4k gold, no chestnut trees. i know its not alot but if you have a bot doing that for a few hours, then when they level send them to omacaves/mines etc.. you get the point.

I tried explaining this 3 months ago lol... They keep saying we dont want the server to be pay to play. ALL servers will always be the same, if people have the money to spend, they will have better kit its simple. Why not let the money which botters are making go towards the server instead of in the pockets of other ppl
