Theme Servers? o.O

First of all, Let me just say that I not saying anything bad about any Mir Servers.

At the moment there are a lot of private servers running each possessing its own Unique thing from Mobs, Maps or even Poor Lag.
I notice that nowadays everyone tries to make a server that is 1 better than the rest using ideas already in play.

A few years back when private servers just started shining there was a few 'Theme Based Servers' e.g Zanarkand. I read alot of posts from players wanting that little more from the server there playint , like as if to say its getting boring.
I am not saying people would be happier to play 'Another' server But wouldnt it be nice if someone made a server theme based on these for example

Matrix
Lord Of The Rings
Pirates Of The Carribbean
Final Fantasy
God Of War (Ancient Greek)
Gladiator
........

Think about My Opinions as a mir gamer, I dont know about other gamers i assume you will all post ur Opinion which is the whole point of a Forum LOL

Lord of the rings would make a good theme for mir and mebbe final fantasy, but I dont see how you could base a server on the other suggestions. Perhaps you could explain what you would do to make a Matrix server?

Just a funny thought....Get a gif viewer i think gadget released one years ago, find all the gifs that show a human wearing the armour, there will be like 24 dif gifs showing the human turning 360 degreess Save them, edit, Fill the bits on the armour with black paint, Wollah! u have an original Agent Smith (It isnt that easy if you dont already know btw)

It takes time i know i have done it before making Dragonballz Saiyan Armour

Then u cud let uuber strong agents wonder maps , if ur a noob and cant fight, RUN!! everyone runs from agents :P

my server domain legend of the battle is a theme server, its all about 3x races and you pick which u wanna join, and theres a big war against these 3x races.

HellzLoose doesnt use many euro mir maps at all. Most of them are custom made...

I get where you coming from. I just like high stat server tbh :P any will do, as long as it has more than 10 players lol.

Well I personally love to see custom maps, orginal euro mir maps dont attract me to a server at all... A new SZ, items, mob, maps defo attract me.

A common Fact? whats disinteresting is NOT downloading Great, New and Likable for you to be downloading them in the first place, 50-200mb mir server files, when the average person has got 2-4MB of connection nowadays.. A Common Fact is the average PC contains 40GB. 3 different server files in 3 seperate mir folders would take up 4.6666% of your hard drive. LOL

Wheres the clashing in that? You must have a pretty weak PC mate.

I know that lol - but Matrix is set in the city - all the maps would have to be redone - basically start all the graphics from scratch

Thats why Server Makers have to think is it worth it? besides you get a good team and dont do it alone, wudnt b that hard

Yes people do have that, the fact is that you still have the hassle of downloading it, and your ISP might have a badnwith limit on your connection, why bother wasting bandwith on something you already have?

My mir takes up 1.54GB of space, yes people have alot of hard drive space, but also have other more important stuff then mir, why waste 3X1.5GB of space when u can just have 1? i have 2TB of space and im still stuck trying to find spare space..

yer its true it would be good if everyone had the same client but it will never happen...

we was one of the first every servers to bring out a theme of a mir sever

our theme was starwars back in 2004 a lots changed since then good or bad i dont know but as a server owner you have the power to make the game how you see fit

space shouldnt be an issue, i have used 41 Gb on personal things that i have downloaded in the past 2 years and currently have 6-7 diffrent servers w8in to be play on my pc i just keep them there incase i feel like startin a new server never really have but its the choice downloadin gets boring but not if u start the download then go do summit else and its done when u get back in 2-3 hours l8r

well your saying people have 2-4MB connection what about the people with 512k or 56k connection this is where your gonna have to think, io have an idea which might help all private server's and make downloading easier and would stop people having to download around 3client;s to play other server's

i recon acouple people should go and make a new client. and make it with all the best items new wep's armor's sheilds duel's and build into for 1.9 1.4 and 2.3. this would stop people complaining about downloading all they would have todo is download these EXE in 1,9 servers case and map's i would say DM2 creator's and the Foundation file creator forgot name

i agree daneo, why cant som1 just make 1.4 1.9 2.3 files with all shiz needed and put on forums then severs can say if u have these files u only need EXE, i had all my mirs n i played when i wanted but as i sed my mum deleted them for her "things"

this could very easy be done, but in 3 months the client will be out dated and would need more maps etc adding, meaning you still going to have to download some type of update...

well downloading maps aint a problem. the client is. it may be out dated in couple month's but thats where you rip load's of items from different game's like some1 did with those little wierd armor's lol
