Sad to hear that this will be the first mir server you have played as it is very paid to win. Shame this will be your first impression of the game
The server itself isn't pay to win.
The community between itself have made it pay to win, which is the same on EVERY server.
Not exactly every server, This one is a bit over the top with xp pots offering a 40% buff which is way too much
Just wait until my server is released later this year....
But in all honesty the fact GMs said they aren't going to stop gold selling and stuff (or at least attempt to) gives the community the option to make the server P2W as they can sell gear as long as its not broadcasting it.
As a mir player myself, and having been a GM, knowing how long it would take to stop everyone selling items, i wouldnt waste my time on a game where the gms are going to waste time focusing on this rather than the game itself. Id also feel very put off knowing i couldnt sell my gear after X amount of time grinding and wanting to move on. I think youll find, this motivates more players to play, knowing they can, if they decided, leave and have accomplished something.
I agree this is morally incorrect, but mir nowadays doesn't hold morals like real world situations, and we choose our rules based on what we know players want. We dont accept selling of accounts/gold, but its something we cant waste our time stopping.
With regards to pay to win, its a ludicrous comment, and frankly wrong. I can confirm that only 8 payments were made yesterday and on average 10. Thats including multiple payments from one player. meaning on average 10 of the 600 people who log in daily are donating, you see this as pay to win?
With regards to players who choose to buy gold, there are casual players making 1-2mill an hour, in 2 very obvious locations. Players who choose to buy gold, are quite simply lazy. i dont mean this in a negative way either, i mean in a way they choose to play.

I am not judging your approach to it, I was just saying is why it feels somewhat P2W.
I agree it isn't possible to monitor it, especially when you want to work on the server files; hell you can get away with it on stuff like WoW and LoL so no point exhausting resources.
I've not once mentioned the GameStore, I was merely commenting on the whole item/gold selling aspect is all; I have always thought the exppot % was too high, but its not like it was game breaking, as it wasn't like people who donated got like 50% buff for 24 hours for a fiver, people have the option to pay 4 quid for an hour exp buff if they want too!
100%, same as wow players who buy game tokens to sell for gold (it's lazy but if they want to do it, let them) - the only bad side is the fact that the server team don't profit off of these transactions.
Yeah i know mate, the rest was in general, but didint unquote myself! was in a rush. I was just explaining why we have taken this approach.
I think an Assassin/Warrior is the way to go if you plan on playing for a while,
Play a tao if you want to solo the game right at the moment. Other than ShadowStep being broken right now, i think a Sin is the best once gear starts to develop as it currently is. Shadow step is just hinging progression for sins at the mo, which will be fixed asap.
