Thinking of starting

Yes.
I'm considering downloading this, this evening and wondered what the consensus was regarding whether there is still a point in starting as a new user? I've seen and read lots of conjecture about how the older players have seen significant gains compared to new users and wondered if this has been pacified at all?

Also, I would only likely be able to commit a couple of hours a day - is there any point?

Thoughts welcome.

I thought you were already playing - someone was using the name Robert anyway.

I started playing later than most and casually too. Took me a couple weeks to get level 30 playing solo here and there. While the event is on it's been easier, I'm now 38

Its still a good, fun server...for solo or group play. Plenty of caves and hunting grounds, quests to keep you occupied. It depends what you want from it, if your a casual player, your always going to be behind the no lifers. If you intend to spend several hours a day, you'll eventually catch them.

Worth trying... has been quite fun so far - not had a good Mir fix in a while ;)

Good time to get a boost while the even is on - easy EXP.

Good time to start with event easy to jump through early levels which are a drag otherwise. Is a great server for team hunting and in old mir style it does it well as couldn't accomplish much solo and a great user count. Downside is like euro will be a grind in mostly same caves as euro with main new thing being the archer outside that most of the other classes are identical to euro in terms of skills (same skills but they do calculate damage differently)

If your going to start it must be today I’d say as the event exp will get you to lvl35+ casual playing by the time it’s finished. Most ppl are now 40 with subs close to that lvl also.

The event drops a good amount of steady gold and you don’t need any pots.

At the moment there are event mobs called dwellers in caves probably not good for a lvl8 after getting out of EdenBay but jackolanterns are returning for part3 and there safer and easier in the provinces.

Event aside there are SOME nice folk from chronicles on hear but other than that half ppl here are PK mad and will steal bosses from you at any given time and not be much help. Lots of PK ganks In BW running to npcs so be careful of that. Not much of a community/rivalry ratio atm more edging towards rivalry only.

I'm a casual player, work 50 hours a week and have a level 40, 37, 30 and 26 and only started 3 or 4 weeks ago, I'd say this is the perfect time to start as the event at the moment will allow you to catch up. In the 1f of most caves there are dwellers that give 2-5k exp (depending on mob level in cave I think) that are easy to kill and don't move. Just understand that when the event is over you will be back to grinding normal mobs and levelling will slow unless you are 40+.

Hah I remember doing the same thing, playing as sephiroth was awesome but so buggy. I like the one where you keep aeris throughout the whole game though, made investing in her final limit etc worth it.

Oh jesus, I spent so many god damn hours playing Triple Triad. Loved that card game. FF blitzball as well, soooooo many hours playing that. Even though Tidus Jecht Shot 2 was broken as ****. Personally though it's all about getting the worst of every player and maxing them out, that's the true hardcore version.
