Ok, so I don't want this to desend into a fight between sins and taos but I have a question about trap...

Trap Hex and Trap have the same mob level / player level requirements... perform the same function (allow the player to increase his/her chance of a 1vs1 PvE)...however, the Tao spell is level 28, the Assassin spell is level 33.

The other major difference is the insane cooldown value for the assassin skill vs the zero cooldown for the tao skill...

Assassin Trap level 0 cooldown - tested = 21.5 seconds
Assassin Trap level 1 cooldown - tested = 15.5 seconds
Assassin Trap level 2 cooldown - estimate = 10.5 seconds
Assassin Trap level 2 cooldown - estimate = 7 seconds

So to have a skill anywhere near close to the equivalent tao skill at level 28, the assassin would need to be level 38, and there's still a cooldown time.

Now, my 'sin is not level 38, so I'm only guessing at the cooldown times... but chances are it's not going to be instant recast at level 3... so...
is this by design? is this a mistake?

It always had a longer cooldown. This whole ''that class has this so i want it too'' mentality really doesn't fit with a game like Mir.

Edit: Having read the post above me, maybe I was too nice.

Excellent grasp of our language, well done. Nice constructive reply also. Thank you, keyboard warrior :) I hope you don't have that attitude in 'real life' you're likely to get a slap.

I've not played a server with assassins before so consequently never had the skill... no idea of what it's had before.

My point wasn't that I 'want it too'... it was a question.. is the cooldown by design or a mistake. I'm sorry that you missed that from my original post. Maybe I should have made the text bigger, or used bright colours.

Don't feel disheartened, there are many keyboard warriors on here.
Not necessarily aimed at you but in general, over past few days all i've seen are cry threads about classes being unbalanced and things needing to be changed. Players are comparing their class with other classes and other private servers.

You edited your main post OP.

Basically what you were saying is "taos have X cooldown, we have Y cooldown, why isn't ours the same :(:(:("

You are a DPS class, not a support class. Stop moaning.

Is the cooldown by design, or a mistake?

It's s very simple question.

My Tao has no cooldown on trap hex, my Sin has some cooldown... since the skills are largely the same the question was is it intentional or not. It's really simple.

Assassins are able to sneak through mobs, the occasional mob (those who can generally lift the para) can see through you stealthy ninja techniques! Trap could be used to stop these kind of mobs...

Speedy monsters, ones that might not necessarily be worth killing but are however are pain (spid bats for eg), trap is good to keep those at bay...

Most of all trap is good for pvp and stopping lets say a taoists "too fast" skeleton.

Please use the tools you are provided with instead of complaining they don't do what you want them to.

its the mir community. they cant give decent feedback. they see someone asking a question and think "OMG he is crying... QQ gd" etc.

the guy is asking a question. all he needs is an answer.

i imagine this is by design because you are able to kill things with more ease than a tao so you dont need the skill to be as powerful as a taos. plus this skill would further reduce the need for taos in groups in place of assasins if it was too good. sin has 2 skills now that make them able to replace taos - trap and poisonsword which is an AoE cast (taos need level 40+ to get AoE poison).

The classes are largely different. Surely you understood this much before making such a retarded thread?

I am a warrior. I have pro field, wizards have magic shield, why is my spell not as good as a wizards?? Is this by design or is this a mistake?

Holy ****!! An adult!! Hello :)

Thank you for the normal response. Since you've explained it like that, it makes perfect sense!

You needed someone to take an entire paragraph to explain to you that; Assassin = DPS class. Taoist = Support class. Sorry but I don't think you are that stupid. This was a cry thread from the get go, don't go acting dumb now its been turned around on you.

Sam has made numerous mistakes and corrections since the server was made live. This could have been one of them, and since I don't play every Mir Server in existence as I'm sure you do, I didn't know how Trap performs anywhere else... hence the giant text at in the original post....but you (and others) clearly have a need to jump on anything as an outlet for your angst. Keep that up, hope it serves you well.

Don't give me the tao = support class bullshit, they've been solo killing ZT for years.

We'll let Wond have his inevitable final word, then we may as well close this thread, as my question has been sufficiently rinsed.

I didn't think trap would work on higher level mobs (Spid Bat is like Level 50), Also didn't know trap worked on pets. Might be worth getting this skill then.

Or alternatively you could word your post better so it doesn’t come across in a way in which it wasn’t originally intended you clown.

Here you are clearly comparing them and hinting at the fact that you believe they should be similar, if not the same. Why should they be? Why would it be a mistake to have different classes having different mechanics/cooldown times on similar spells? Homogenising everything turns game stale.

It’s no error as I said before, it’s the way it’s been on any server I’ve played that has a sin on it. Case closed, you can shut up now.

lol. No they are not, nor should they be on two completely different classes.
