Thats just what they call it so people get the idea but its not a true hologram.

Pixel displays can simulate holograms by using a lenticular curved prism sheet infront of the screen giving multiple viewing angles as you walk around or with eye/head tracking and a dynamic paralax barrier infront of the screen

Voxel displays are true physical space holograms and can be achieved with a spinning screen/mirror or by emitting lasers/light to exite particles or create positive/negative interference

check out the microsoft mirage table for a proper holo display very cool vid posted on bbc yesterday. I developed something similar using a 84" lenticular display array with kinect tracking for holographic adverts
