Hi, I'm Kori

And this is a tutorial video on how to spot a cheater.

There are a few key points that must be addressed.

1) The person recording the video must be at 60FPS (speedcap of the server) and has no framelag when recording (a decent system is usually needed for this)
2) A stable connection to the server (I get 10ms ping to the current server)

So, with that done, I'll explain the difference between Myself/Depress' speed, and TitusPullo's in this video.

The speed obtainable via the game's system is for all intensive purposes what we'll call "1.1"

You cannot go above this at all through legit means, even if you could have done so with your spec as the server limits you.

TitusPullo is running at what we'll call "1.3"

This means he's altered his game to allow him to go beyond 1.1, obtaining the speeds you've just seen in that video.

Pay attention to his movements in comparison to myself, the sin and Spud at around 1:40 onwards - this is where it becomes quite obvious he's running at speeds beyond what are capable.

Now, don't be fooled. If you're not at the speedcap OR your ping to the server is well over 150, people who ARE at the speedcap and/or have a superior ping to the server will look a lot like this to you!

I recommend checking out the following thread if you have FPS problems:

http://www.lomcn.org/forum/showthre...-ease-client-lag-and-potentially-increase-FPS

or download "WTFast" if you have ping problems.

Please remember, this is not Euro Mir or 2.3 mir, gone are the days you can use your 12year old computer and expect to be at even speeds with the client. Chronicles has evolved a lot since then and as such requires at least a decent spec to run it optimally.

Thankyou, and have a good day.

Worthing is depressing.
Hardly a cry he was out numbered and killed one before RT. It was obvious there was some speed affecting item and kori showing and explaining i feel was quite useful. If anything its the most legit and explained cheat post so far!

He does seem to walk a lot more where normally one would run that is suspicious.
The speed at 1.40 is similar to how i see you and depress, so for that to happen to you i can only imagine how fast that would be on my screen :/
Your hit on the running target at 1.27 was nice, i was watching your cursor movement, do you just sift swing in the direction they are instead of locking onto them by shift clicking the body?

He was banned shortly after this video, due to others reporting it/BH came on and got his own evidence, as well as Titus spamming the M2 with speed detection errors.

As for the 1:27 swing, basically I like to swap targets in fights a lot as it throws people off. If you notice at 1:18 I quickly shift lock back onto the sin, and later catch him (simply hold shift, hope it connects, in this scenario he runs into the hit)

Yeah, I realise that myself and Depress look silly speeds to you and others who aren't at the speedcap, which is why it's extremely important to note that people who aren't at the speedcap and/or suffer from huge packet loss or ping delays (Bad internet/live far away) won't ever be able to have a reliable say on who's cheating and who isn't. The best we can do is try to get everyone to the speedcap, but not everyone is willing to put in the effort or in some cases, irl money to upgrade their really old computer.

The M2 will catch anyone going beyond the speeds that the client allows you to go, sadly people such as Titus fail to understand this and do silly things and end up being banned.

I'm always willing to help people attempt to reach the speedcap - I've done so for quite a few already. I'd like to, at some point in the future, do a global test with everyone in-game who feels they're not up to par and individually go through their specs, their connection to the server and try to improve it.

Ah missed that second lock on, small vid on phone, thanks for clarifying. Yeah you helped me configure my gcard settings, its much appreciated.
Aye seeing someone that fast on a super fast persons screen could mean only one thing.
Good job bud.

Did you ever manage to fix those permissions errors when trying to go to certain cores for Mir?

The above tweak (explained by Samuel in his thread I've linked in my original post) has helped a LOT of people get to the speedcap.

It's most certainly worth a try if anyone happens to read this who feels they could be faster ingame.

Surely the speed cap isn't correct way to testing a cheater since when on a mount you are going faster, is it aslong as you don't go faster than the speed on a mount you don't get caught?

This whole speedcap thing confuses me. I thought the cap was 60fps yet on fraps it says I get 60-65 fluctuating, usually 63ish. My ping is 125 on wtfast. Are you super speedy guys getting 70+ fps or is it the latency that makes the rest of the difference in regards to looking so fast on my screen?

Good video, I thought he was rapid in BDD last night.

2 points.

1) Curse needs a nerf by 3-4 Secs!!

2) Can a GM log on to TitusPullo and give me his necklace :) I'll pay ££!!

Yeah thanks kori i sorted the permissions to set the affinity.
I do think im as fast as ill ever be with the current set up i have.
From taking advice my motherboard is worse than a sheet of cardboard so thats going to need replacing, it wont happen anytime soon though.
Also moving to virgin from bt seems a good shout as my brother who lives a few doors away gets a much better ping than me.

Ive managed to speed up a little from shutting down the home media server and banning the rest of the family from touching anything with wifi when i need as much speed as possible :)
