So whats the point releasing anything? And I fail to see anything released on lomcn that has been 'abused' People either use it or they wont simple as that If they make **** servers thats there fault theres still gonna be good servers made

And im pritty damn sure fully working files up to the standard of offical euro mir would not be 'abused'

Saying they'd be abused sounds like an extremly poor excuse not to release something nick.. Then again you've never excatly been the releasing type have you? lol

And surely leaving it on his comp puts it to 'no use' as you say

I couldnt care less if YKW released his emu Be great if he did but I never once demanded(or even asked) he do so Its his work he can do whatever the hell he wants with it But I beleive that spending two years on something and then leaving it on some folder on his computer is a waste

In fact if anything its more selfish to show people things that they have wanted for a long time in private server's and not release But lets not get into that eh?

Oh and YKW i am in no way having a go at you You've always had my respect and will contuine to do so no matter what you decide to do with your work.

Myself, and Eric used to help out alot with these server files, there was at one stage a plan to release a single server using them. It was never developed for commercial use, maybe things have changed since then, but I'm looking out for YKW, people here can be somewhat manipulative to say the least. I understand that this was Bill's own challenge, and isn't wasted what so ever, the guy doesn't even play mir, it was to develop his coding skills.

I doubt you were around to see the threats WEMADE gave LOMCN so long ago, but they are serious, and now WEMADE are bigger than ever, who knows what kind of fire storm a completed version of their games source code could create. Look at how hard WEMADE attempted to pursure shanda over their files, and that was an entirely new game developed from mir.

Don't get me wrong Milo, because I know you weren't intending what you said in the way you thought I took it, but when an admin says something like that, theres going to be a hell of alot of people trying to get these files off him. I think you took what I said a little personally, I also think you forget who I am, I know you Milo, and what you have done here, don't misunderstand my intentions.

YKW been working on his files for a very long time and has done some brillent work with them, it would be a shame to see it wasted, but like i said its YKW's work so its his disscision.

what i would like to surgest is if you dont really want to run your own server maybe let one of your colleagues
run it, but like i have said for many years, i would like to see one great server then loads of ok ones...

Also note LomCN is smaller than ever. In WeMade's eye we're a lot like the people who still modify their SNES'.

The ShanDa thing was also a very different situation. With China have such a large opportunity for profit, and their new game being able to take it away entirely, WeMade HAD to fight.

Think they would do the same for 200 disorganised LomCN users who refuse to pay for their game anyway?

Oh I was around all right I might not of been active but I was around.

Um You do know Wemade lost there battle against Shanda dont you? I doubt they'd try again with a small community like LOMCN (Especially considering its far smaller than it used to be) And when I spoke of Wemade and Shanda I meant them sueng Plumewind a commerical Mir2 emulator That pritty much every chinese server now use's Since Shanda have Mir2 back you'd think they'd take an active stance against private servers

I really believe nothing would happen now to YKW if he released the files or even ran a single server.

If you are hosting an emulator totattly reprogrammed with your own code you're doing nothing wrong. The players connecting with the companie's client are the only ones who can get introuble.

1.4 gms threatened us because we were using the real server files.

If you're running 1.9 you legally can't get introuble.. your gates are re-coded everythings re-coded.

all the graphics, maps, mobs, spells, etc. are all their own material, and will be copyrighted. its why shanda had a big law suit. because of the very big resembolence to mir.
