Update on KillChain abuse and Cheaters

Well that was fun. Short story is everyone with an Exp Stack longer than 1 hour has now had the time reset to 1 hour. Some of you really took the piss. KillChains for the time being also don't give Power Buffs till we can reboot with a fix to stop them stacking. Exp Rate no longer stacks and this was done on the fly.

This update is more to explain that we are actively working on the issues most affecting players at the moment. Namely Mining, Taming. We are a small team with work getting in the way so we won't always be the quickest with some problems (Which may seem like easy to fix but really aren't) but the issues will be fixed.

Also as of now a number of players and their store characters have been banned for cheating. This isn't up for discussion and will not be reversed.

can i ask what the cheaters actually did? as i understand the use of performance enhaning programs ie. gamebooster are cheats.... i have used this for ages on all types of games because they told me too, didnt realise it was a cheat (on mir alone) until i spoke to TD.

Unfortunately it is impossible for us to tell the difference between those who are using cheat apps to improve performance and those who are cheating. We can't pick and choose here. It's harsh I know and I'm sorry for those that fell under the hammer in those circumstances but it was required.

We won't be naming and shaming either guys. Lets at least try keep this professional.

Yeh I have been banned For cheating?? I am one of the slowest people in game and get cained by every person I have ever fought with! Gtted, first mir server ive played for years and invested a lot of time into it. Glad I didnt buy a laptop that could run the game better for me. An explanation would be nice after putting in hours of work into playing here.

The biggest mistake you made is banning all on a single IP, Your forgetting about University halls, public IP locations and multiple people connecting from the same IP.

You banned Scratchy, Kitana and Komodo. Three completely different people all because they connect from the same IP.

Komobo apparently used a speed program to reduce his lag as since he started this server, hes been barely able to play. From what ive been told he tried it once and it made **** all difference.

Fair enough Komodo used a enhancement program and a ban was warranted. But banning the other two because of the same IP is ridiculous.

Needed to get Storage Characters etc. If they didn't cheat (we're still checking some users out) they will be unbanned.

I liked you analogy with the murderer, however, they could be arrested under suspicion and that's all that has happened here.

As and when you use a cheat program it will report it to us, if your name is on this list you will be banned until proven otherwise.

We are still investigating so bare with us, but in my opinion it is better to get rid of the majority and then reinstate the minority.

Do yourself a favor and get rid of all AV and similar stuff, its all really junk. I you don't frequent 'bordelo sites' on net (by that I don't mean porn but popular sites with young yuppies), you don't need any protection, believe me.
