I've just had a 8GB USB stick come through the post today.
I then copied 3-4 movies onto the USB and plugged it into my TV; It lets me open the folders e.g. "The Human Centipede", but then nothing is inside the folder, although there actually is.

Any idea how I can view these videos?
I'm assuming its a simple case of converting the file, but where would I convert it? and in which format?

completely depends on the formats and codecs that your TV accepts. Read the manual and find which ones it reads, then convert your films to that.

Also depends what TV you have...the usb port on mine is only for viewing images, you can't play videos from it.

The other alternative is for your pc to play the film and output the signal to the PC Input of your telly.
Easy if your pc's a lappy, not so easy if its a tower !

Ive got a shabby Technika, ive figured that by tv supports fat32(USB) and xvid format.
Only problem I now have, is once the file has been converted to xvid the file goes from 800mb to 5.5gb.
My USB is 8GB, and i get the message "file is too big". Aparently the biggest file you can copy at one time is 4gb which leaves me prettymuch stumped unless the film is shorter than 1 hour 30 ;/

Any solutions?

yeah thats a feature of fat32 unfortunately, max file size of 4 GB minus 1 byte.

surely it supports more than just xvid?
