Can i have a copy? Will send £5.
Same ere, will probly get Ultimate, or go back to SuSE (I like win32 programs though)
being on a computer science course i got Windows Vista Business Retail for free. and i get as many copies as i want to pass around. whoop.
Wine/Cedege/Crossover Office/Win4lin/vmware as appropriate.
KILL THE DEVIL WORSHIPER!!!!but i prefer windows, linux sucks
Well no, cos Windows Media Center is windwos only. it can run MythTV tho instead :Pyeah but can it run WoW on one monitor, and MSN / Firefox on the other with windows media center TV playing at the same tiem with like 80FPS on WoW?
IndeedThe latest version of Ubuntu is hot.
"sudo apt-get install ntfs-config" fixes that. NTFS-3G fixes ntfs write access. I'm using it right now to access all my drives. But until Linux get's compatability with NTFS harddrives, it will remain, entirely horse manure, I have over 100gigs of media on a harddrive which I'm simply not prepared to format, and to only be allowed Read-Only access to it, is absolutely appalling.
I havn't tried WoW, but cedega is aparently meant to work quite well these daysAlso.. I could not get a single game to work at a decent standard with absolutely any emulator, I mean for ****s sake, it runs WoW with god damned GNOME GUI, I mean, what the hell is that all about?
But really, what does an msn client need todo apart from send/recieve messages and possibly files/webcam ?Also, not a single Instant Messanging company supports Linux, aMSN, kMSN, etc. etc. fail in comparison to Windows Live Messenger 8.1 BETA with LOADS more errors and that's a beta for gods sake.
It has decent supportJust because an OS is incompatible with Spy/Ad/Mal/Gayware doesn't mean it's superior, Linux should remain for networking only until it get's decent support from decent companies.
Thats their minumum specs, in realtiy it consumes more than thatAs for Windows Vista, I thought I'd check it out in currys today before I torrented it.. needs 512MB of RAM to run, not 2GB, so.. that's wrong
Which eddition is that? Home basic Upgrade? (Which DOESN'T have the fancy GUI, and required a pre-installed system to upgrade. No more fresh installs using your upgrade CD only, you need to instal XP, then install vista.)and also it costs £99 not £250 or whatever the hell you said.
Thats just f**king appauling, reallyBut it does take up 15gigs of harddrive space, which is awful considering my OS/Software harddrive is only 32GB.
Ubuntu+Beryl gives you the ability to have the Same style GUI.But, the GUI is absolutely BEAUTIFUL
I can forsee it being as compatible with older stuff as XP was.and as long as compatability with old software remains intact, I'm pretty sure it's the best OS to date.
