Warriors have always been slower at lower levels, you'd be better lowering the level req. of Half Moon if anything, as that really helps at the lower level, especially in places like BC/Mines.

Rage should be rare, and should be a spell which really gives a warrior that edge.

this notion of rare skills is the most stupid unbalance in the game imo, totally unbalances pvp towards i have the skill you havent "i win haha"

All you really need to do to "fix" warriors is to give TDB priority over slaying.

The problem is while it may help initially with the minor DC benefit you would have every high level warrior with this at 45+ . Shouldn't this be rare at the higher levels?

I do agree that rare skills are bad, I think Mir2 is the only game where you reach the level needed for a skill but you can't use it. It's even worse for a Warrior that doesn't have that many skills to begin with.

However the issue is hunting for a rare skill or saving gold to buy a rare skill is one of only a small number of reasons to continue playing Mir's "end-game" and therefore keeps players interested.

I'd personally like to see the notion of rare skills squished but I for one cannot think of anything else to replace them with to keep player interest up.

How do you balance a class based on the fact it may or may not have a skill like Rage/FlameField?

You can't.

All the testing so far is currently pointless PvP wise until Sam/GM's decide to give every tester @level 45 and all their spells. THEN you can finally start balancing the game damage wise, we'll see if the warrior truly does outscale a sin, if FF wizzies will dominate etc, if Curse is far too powerful... Is the archer even that good? etc etc

I'm all for testing content (have been doing for the past 12 hours non stop) but the important part of Mir is the balance between classes in pvp.

Samuel, If you truly want to start balancing classes, start at the end-game. If warriors truly do completely outscale Sins then I'd have to say giving them an early advantage is a bad idea, as that would be the "flaw" of the class. Once you're happy with content testing (early-mid game has been done many-times over so far) only thing left to test is late game testing.

We had discussed this for a number of reasons:
-warriors seem slower at lower levels
-most mmo's provide buffs early on in the game...

For me, lowering sins speed is out of the question, they have very low hp and defense and without the speed they are incredibly weak warriors...

Warriors still have a much higher dps rate once they have thier skills

Sam

taos are slow at solo leveling at every level, warriors out level taos! are taos getting a buff in some way?

it aint hard for a warrior to get upto level 32! like 2-3 days and theyll have tdb! are you thinking of PVP balance with this discussion? cause tdb is gunna hurt a wiz at level 32 without rage, and the only way to make rage effective at low level is not to make it rare!

with sins coming ingame warriors should be seen as a tank class now, either way level 3 flaming sword hurts still!

this is as bad as the idea to make it harder to get gold, people like hunting! not farming for gold to buy pots to actualy hunt!

As suggested before perhaps make slaying more worthwhile by upping its damage as having as it currently cancels out some tdb's but is needed for that little acc boost.

Or... as suggested previously also lowering the tdb requirement levels but that would involve changing warr so their mana pool appears visually at a lower level than 26

why change any skill levels on warrior at all? how many people are gunna be under level 32 for long? the beta testers are all level 40 in a week! look at the testing you have already done and notice people with level fast enough for it not to be an issue!

if it was normal exp rates and took people a month or more to get 40+ id MAYBE see it being an idea to talk about!

People were given Kit by GM's when they hit a certain level, and then boosted to level 40 when they hit 35. I can tell you it'll take much longer without being given kit/boosted to get 40 lol.

PI wasn't too bad for speed around 22 iirc as long as you kept to single target or you'd get mullered, talking old euro mir though not sure about ace

it isnt about the levelling speed. its about the fun of the character. warriors have nothing but toggle/passive skills until they hit 30 (ShoulderDash?) and that cant be used on anything you would be killing. then its 31/32? Flamesword can only be used every 10 secs or so.

Moving TDB may be more viable considering it's an essential war skill and it seems that 30+ books will be very rare. Being a 32+ war without tdb is grim

I still think slaying (a skill that needs to be changed anyways) is the best place to tweak warriors early game.
