need more drops. more rares from norm monsters. more skill books. need more gold on server. need stop cheats. need stop bots and chestnut farmers. wtf sins low hp and bad class they cant solo 8 players. lol wizz no damage die easy no spells none drop. warr op hits too hard and big hp. archer need buff only hits 5 enemies at a time and low hp. tao fine op skels too fast green pois too good need nerf. slaying need reverting. no mini maps in kr bad and no rt on floors bad. fate quest too hard. omaking too easy for big boss. same fox. orc too hard. yim too hard get to. wt no need bolt. bl spawn too much. archers range too long hit off screen not good make flinch. body drops rare. gm no impartial.

Concisely summarised, I think I covered most angles.

But, not PVP for the sake of it.

An actual reason to PVP, 3H/4H did this quite well.
I remember that pvp stone thing where you had to go to mongchon and get close to it to answer questions to hold it like king of the hill. I'd like a king of the hill on this server with the spot being put in a random part of any map that you have to find yourself. If found then a global shout give away the position.

Getting mir mixed up with real life again perhaps!

As curse10 was mentioned perhaps some attention to that guild during cave fights needs looking into to improve the server. Just so we can all be as good as them of course tho.

I think if you make the PvP of this server as fast paced as a high rate server (mechanics wise, not stats or fight duration) then you will attract back alot of players that have gone back to certain other servers, purely because fighting here isnt as good. Not saying its bad, but it could use some work.

Oh and what Breezer has suggested... if you would like more modern day mmo players to come and try your server and stay, then add spell trainers insted of having to hunt for the rest of your life for spells to make the game enjoyable.

You could use his ranked spells upto 5 idea very well, making all spells accessible until 3, then requiring a special training book to get ranks 4/5. With this also noone has an advantage in PvP or PvE, and the people with rank 4/5 spells will still be the stronger ones over the ones who prefer to solo.

I for one, with this change would happily come back, being able to experience everything the game has too offer without having to spend stupid amounts of hours on the game everyday and have to be in a strong guild to actually get anything.

Lied the idea of clearing a cave with no respawns. B nice to have a quest to clear the whole of bc (1-3 day time limit or something) then be rewarded like 200k for ur efforts

I HATE pvp tbh im terrible at it for starters but seriously i just dont like it at all. wouldnt want to change it though as others obv like it.

I prefer small groups hunting or solo tbh. But i dont have a lot of choice with my rig.

I would just like to see shops : ability to by what people sell
Crafting/Refining back properly like Euro
That thing where you went in a room and the mobs went up in levels until you couldnt cope. cant remember what it was called.

About crafting, I assume this also means Refining ?

if it was done correctly it would be really good but so far no Mir server has ever made anything from it.

I like the idea of " Group based dungeons / boss encounters (high difficulty) " to make guild hunts more interesting.
But also I like the idea of " Solo/Small group based dungeons " more the reason of being in a small group as guild is not for everyone. This more fits in with "Levelling" too , i think it would be interesting if there were more class based caves, perhaps one or two caves for each class fitting them more so they can level solo or together rather than putting two different classes together. Just my 2 cents

I'd say sort the content you have - the quests are limited and unimaginative.
I do think moving OKS to where it is now was a huge deterrent for mass pk/pvp.

Attract back a lot of players? The user count is high enough to make it interesting. How high was the user count on 3 and 4 H?

Low, Mid and High level caves purely for the pvp more than the drops.
This might work. No point in low level one though. But a boss in there and let it be a free for all. Drops are same stuff as anywhere else but different colour writing to show that the owner is a winner

Virgins are more of a challenge anyway. Just say no.
Plus mass pvp isnt to everyones taste anyway. You seem to want this to be the same as every other server. I enjoyed the OKS fights too but I would love someone besides myself say that they became a matter of who had the best cheats or the most exploited kit.
As it is only the brave go to OKS and you cant just do a fast run back if you die. Thats fine i think. Always bugged me that you could kill someone and they get back in 2 mins.

Everyone has an aspect of the game they enjoy the most, but what's yours?

Great poll tbh, with 66 (atm) responses (more than even the population of most existing mir servers), I'd use these stats.

I don't like to criticise mir server (good or bad) hosters/teams, out of respect mostly, for the time, effort, talent and alot of times money they put into them.

This server boasts several hundred players - I must admit I was shocked in the first days when I saw the player count. The appetite for the game is very much still there in 2014, but the community is very diverse as this poll alone suggests. But you also get the feeling over the years and keeping in touch with lomcn.

First off, this server, being the best available model, thanks to all that people have done to it and acem2, is already at a high standard. Possibly at the moment, graphically impressive relatively in mir terms. It's just enough to attract new players as well as old.

It's hard to make suggestions, as it's tough to appreciate the circumstances of the hosters, so forgive me if this isn't possible - but:

I always feel that having one server option when you launch the game, today, is a bad thing. All of the above players are mixed in together, and as a non-paid staff with finite time - how the heck are you supposed to please all of them ? You can't..

In an ideal world, it would be good to launch Mir2 and instead of just the Chronicles button to jump to the server, you should have 4 different servers. (yes I know, I pre-empted this by saying I appreciate that this may not be possible for alot of reasons) - maybe separate parts of a bigger team can host each as an option ?? (I don't know)

1: Chronicles - Normal, normal rate (take a number of weeks to get to 22 etc), nothing in the shops to start, mobs are as close to whatever official is these days. No perks, no benefits. Quests, blah blah. Drops equating to the types of mob you're hunting, taking into consideration of what level of player would hunt them (I've done this myself using an app to generate drop files) - so ZT doesn't drop SkeletonRings and tat, but will drop lvl appropriate stuff. No Maces from ET, etc. If you're lvl33 hunting in a "lvl22 area" and get tat for you - that's your problem, but if you're lvl33 hunting in a "lvl40 place" - you get lvl40 stuff, skill book, items, etc.

2: Chronicles - Beta. (I hate to say this) similar to what the server is now. 40 within a month, items to a certain level in the shops, test quests, test drops, items etc. You want to see new stuff, new areas, quickly, you come here.

3: Chronicles - PVP. There's a high pvp following to Mir, so exploit it. PVP only maps. When you log in, you're lvl 1, from which you use an npc or whatever, to get to the pvp maps, with predefined levels that your character becomes when you get there. Fully skilled, fully kitted. It's a drop-in and pure pvp server. Mobs for interference. Events etc. Even some dropped in new stuff from Beta for tests. Defined times of the week for competitions.

4: Chronicles - Wuss, I mean PVE. No pvp at-all, cept on war occasions. Not quite sure how to do this, but a wuss version of the Normal server.

Each of these co-exist to the extent that taking part in each of them can lead to bonuses in the others, perhaps using gamepoints or similar, nothing over the top or exploitable, but something like the winner of a pvp event gets accredited and can use something in one of the other 3 servers, mainly the normal or wuss ones obviously. Web based or summit.

(yes I got too much time on my hands today)

The community is still massive and passionate about the game. I'd guess at least half know about getting a server running to an extent, half of those will know how to do it well but not have time to do much else, and there's dozens of people who can compile it from source and change stuff at will. Each of the above servers have pros and cons of interest. I know for a fact there are masses of people who'd want input in a pvp dedicated server - I'd exploit this.

Be nice if this could happen and be managed, and it's not a p1ss take, I appreciate what you're doing and I'm not being patronising.

I dont think the pvp aspect has a much of a following as people say. Usamir Official mir2 forever and mir3 global all had no body drops and discouraged pk. They all lasted quite a few years and had higher user counts than most other servers. The kill everyone for being on the same screen people are a minority.

That's a fair comment, and you'll prob get some that say they do, until it goes against them, blah blah.

However, you could couple that with those who'd play on it knowing that there's no consequences and being crap doesn't really matter, cept you don't win. But you can log back in, different name, use another class, same level as all those also taking part in whatever event/comp.

It may work out, prob not be tried on a large scale, with associated interest tho.
