People do have lag outs for whatever reason, and recently I started taming pets as a wiz.
Was levelling my newly acquired frogs and then had a well timed layout! Wasn't dead
but when I logged back in my frogs were gone. I'm aware that this was the norm but I think it would be a really good feature to have a timer if you layout, say 3-5mins that would give you time to log back in and the pets still be yours! Now the only issue that I can think that opposes this is if you died or were killed, in this case you should lose the pets. As it would be totally unbalanced for you to enter pvp or a boss scenario and die but keep pets.
So so my solution in summary would be have a lagout/logout timer for pets so you can keep them if that happens, if you die or are killed you lose them as norm.
i think this idea is a real goer with only benefits for the budding pet tamer, it would certainly increase the use of pets and lvling as that's why I've always avoided them.
