Would it be possible to add a countdown timer to Protection Field as well?

As above...

Whilst I know that it flashes in the top right when it's dying, my focus is mainly on the centre of the screen where my char is. I have the skill bar just above the belt bar so I can see the FS and CA countdown timers but, since PF lasts over a minute, I often suddenly find myself being bashed and realising that PF has died.

It's not a major issue, I usually just hit PF far more often than needed to make sure, but for QoL, it would be great to have a countdown timer for PF as well and I doubt it's difficult to implement since the coding already exists for FS/CA. Presumably, it can just be copied and pasted with the necessary variables changed?

Thanks in advance.

Barns, ur best bet is to find someone who donates heavily, get them to suggest it, and it'll be added bro. Anything said by non bigboy donator gets overlooked or ignored :D

No I read it but with conflicting description, I had to go with the title of the thread .

OK, maybe I should have said "sometimes find myself being bashed...". I usually whack PF as I run into a group of mobs but, if its busy and I'm fighting the same group of mobs for a while, then I sometimes forget to whack it again during the fight.

However, it was obvious from my post that I know you can recast it before it's run out by the fact that I said "I usually just hit PF far more often than needed".

Anyway, I don't do salt. I just asked politely if it was possible since the coding for countdown timers already exists for FS/CA so presumed it would be a quick and easy task to add it for PF. Please say if it's not.

You are correct, I could add a cooldown to the spell that reflects the duration, but that means it would be so much harder for all of the other warriors to level the spell, so I won't be adding it.

No offence Jamie, but you misunderstand. I'm not asking for a cooldown. I'm just asking for the 75 seconds (in my case) it is up for to be displayed and to count down on the skill bar (as the 7 seconds for FS and the 15 seconds for CA do) so that I can reapply it when it's nearly over.

I hope you see what I mean.

He means having the buff duration shown on the skill bar (say in green)

Yes its instant recast, but by having the uptime shown on the skill bar it would show how long left until the buff runs out.

We discussed it in-game and Jamie says it's impossible to code unless it's done as a cooldown feature meaning you can't recast it until the X seconds have ticked down.

As an alternative Jamie, would it be possible to just make the PF icon on the skill bar flash when it's almost finished as the one in the top right-hand corner does?

Is it not possible to code it so that when it's flashing top right in your corner, all spells actually show the amount of seconds it has left?

So as it's flashing its counting down from 10 to 0, and you can visibly see the number without having to hover over it.

That's pretty much what I was asking for, but Jamie says it's impossible to code that without the player being unable to recast it until it's finished as with cooldowns on other spells.

take a screenshot of your ingame layout, maybe there's something else we can look at.

Fairly certain I can create a script that'll show an icon that'll do this for you barns.

otherwise, I'm sure Jamie can do it if he tries hard enough =P

But why, it seems so silly. IF you dont have the mental capacity to remember to press the button. Play a sin and remember to cast haste then go back i think you'll find your fine. Or just write a macro to press the button every 60seconds eliminating the whole conversation.

Actually jamie can we just have an autocast on spells like this. so we never have to worry about it ever again.
