If you create a new account on the 360 it will automatically credit you with a 30 day gold membership. Only problem is you will lose your rank but for me, I don't really care about rank that much.

Have never paid for live. :thumbup2:

I have done this at least 10 times so far without fail. The trick is to create the account while on the 360 and not from the website. Give it a try. :001_wub:

All i know is this has happened before, and the bill was backdated the service was still used, so its best to revolve it now or it will be worse in future.

how can they backdate it? it was a 3 month subscription, wasnt a contract or anything like that, its their fault they havnt disabled it not his. he doesnt really use live anyway he doesnt bother with it, but its there and its free if he wants it lol

If he has live activiated he is still technically using it, so if he continues getting it free without paying any period can be back dated, its his responsibility to cancel it not Microsofts.

Thats like saying you have a phone and dont get a bill for the entire duration, but at the end you are still liable to pay for a service you have used.

actually no its not like that at all.

its like saying you paid for a phone, and they sent u a phone with a simcard with £100 credit on it, once you have used the £100 credit there is fk all they can do to get it back except block ur simcard - but then they still wouldnt get the £100 back and you'd just go get a new simcard (or in the case with microsoft, make a new membership)

there is literally f.a. they can do except cut it off of live, especially because he is under 18.

Fact: it has happened before

And also similar has happened to me, my contract with orange was due to expire so i went with another company however, without my permission my contract with orange was renewed and for 3 months i never used it once nor did i know it was renewed then I had to pay the 3 month bill.

Under 18 or not, you dont need to be over 18 to be liable to pay your debts lol!

If you have a service our mistake or not you are liable to pay for it unless you notify them. End of the day it will prob just get cut off, but that doesnt mean you are not liable to pay for the service you had.

it has happened before, looked it up, its happened with a few people.

your phone contract is totally different, you didnt read the small print, iv got an orange contract and if you dont inform them that you do not wish to renew your contract then they automatically renew it, whereas with microsoft you are not gettin tangled in a contract, you pay for 3months and then they cut you off after 3months and if you wish to pay for more months you have to subscribe for gold membership again, if you dont it doesnt get carried on.

yes they can send him a bill out asking him to pay for the last year n half that he's had free, but he has every right not to pay it and theres nothing they could do to make him pay it as it was a mistake of their own and there is no small print saying "if your live is still enabled after the subscription expires please contact microsoft otherwise you will have to pay for however long your live is enabled"

if they had said that then yes they could make him pay, but unlucky for them they havnt and so he has free xbox live and they cant do jack other then cut it off, which they probably wont as its all automated and they probably dont get someone to go through the millions of accounts checking to make sure they are disabled when their subscription has run out.

It's not the customer's responsibility to disable a service when it's due to expire lol, that's solely the responsibility of the provider. A 3 month subscription paid upfront is not a contract, therefore the customer technically had no wish to continue using said service after the paid-for time was over.

If what you're saying was actually true then any company could continue providing their services even after their customers have stopped asking for it, then backdate them for it when they (obviously) don't pay and make a ton? It wouldn't last 5 minutes in court.
