Evening all,
As you will be aware, we have been working on a patch for what feels like forever. This is simply because the plans we had were originally designed to be ready by the 19th of Jan, however Hany missed his deadline due to real life commitments and wanted some more time. Furthermore this ended up incomplete we had to pass these jobs over to DVS. In the midst of this a gold exploit has been found by a player in the game managing to make significant amounts of gold in a short period of time. Initially we assumed it was players who had been gathered by a botter and this player had decided to quit and drop their earnings. This was the case simply because the gold count had not changed too much (as we keep a log of all gold on the server).
Further investigation confirmed this was not the case and that an exploit had been found. Tracing the gold is impossible at this point.
I understand many players have left, and have no intentions of returning and that's each players own prerogative, therefore i ask this does not turn into a flame post by players who have no interest here.
We have a few options, and would like your contribution/opinion.
Option 1:
Continue ahead as we are and continue with the planned patch (which has a few gold sinks in)
Option 2:
Wipe gold across the whole server and enable players to keep 15% of the current cash they have (which will essentially keep the same value for your gold, but massively reduce what you have.
Option 3:
Wipe Gold and items, giving players a general basic starting kit.
Option 4:
Restart the server (8X leveling speed up to level 43, 3X up to 45).
Option 5:
Completely remove all gold (this will have to be a post as i cant edit a poll).
I dont personally think option 4 is viable. I think option 2 is the best bet, but it's up to those who are still playing and want to continue to do so.
Each of the options will result in the patch being introduced, however how we deal with the gold/items is the decision that needs to be made.
