We realise there are a few reoccurring bug that the server has, and a large percentage of them will be eradicated with this new client we have been fixing up. It was ready to go months ago but our main programmer (Cheeky) has been very busy irl and has left it up to me and Matt to sort things out which we have done. The problem is Cheeky added a skin component for the launcher which he bought the license, so now he's the only one that can compile it because he's the only one with the license. Which means we have to wait for him to be around on MSN to compile it, which at the moment is like trying to spot a one legged griffon.
As for the GT and TM, i'm not overly concerned by the absence of a GT at this stage because it is a rather useless feature, at euro standards, on a private server as most places can be accessed via teleport anyway. TM is slightly more pressing. However we are working on these problems, and i've been getting stuck into the coding over the last week (For the first time, used to Java so a bit of a change) and me and Matt have pinpointed the problems with both the TM and GT, we are now trying to figure out a solution.
We understand that the server is buggy compared to others out there at the moment, but you have to look past that. It is in no way unplayable. As it stands we are currently one of the only servers that can add brand new content to the game. You also have to take into account that the coding is currently being done by two people that have had no experience with Delphi in the past, so are having to adapt there knowledge of other languages.
On an update related note i have added a FFA Tournament NPC for testing, every Tuesday at 7:50pm you can enter the Free For All / Last Man Standing Competition. You will be teleported to a holding area, other competitors will join you, and then at 8pm you will all be teleported into the Battle Area, where the Last man Standing wins. The prizes for winning the competition get better every time you win. Prizes include kit that can only be obtained from winning the competition.
Please bare with us we are working as hard as we can to set things straight but as there’s only two of us working on the code (Me and Matt) and just me working on the server side it takes a bit of time to get things done.
