As im sure you are aware that the user count is dipping off again and people leaving the server to play other mir servers and as i see it it is because of the lack of new content.
You havean amazing server with what used to be a good usercount, all the big names are giving up because they are bored senceless, doing the same thing every day.
Do you have any new updates you can add to help the current players refocus, a new cave, quest anything will do.

I do not want to see the usercount to drop anymore and you carnt expect the halloween event to bring every one back for good, people will logg on for the event and logg straight back off when its over if steps are not taking now.

Please think about what im saying and take action.

A concerned citizen ......

We are and have been working on new content and a Halloween event for the last couple of weeks, as I have said before after the whole 2.0 thing we do not like to post any info until it is ready but there is new stuff on the way. Lots of new stuff.

We are also working hard on adding Monk and this will be a big patch/update with caves and monsters

As for other servers they come and go but Chronicles will always be here as long as players still want it to be.

User count is the same, it's goes up and down. Chronicles was never going to keep the user count from the first month, no server would. I still think a server with 150+ users is great for a private server.

The thing about Chronicles is that it will still be here when other servers come and go.

There is also work been done on a system that is totally unique to mir servers and I know players will love it.

Players are free to come and go, Chronicles will still be here.

I agree with the OP.

Everyone understand's that Sam/BH etc have jobs and personal lives, no one is denying that. But it's fairly clear to see that Sam has lost enthusiasm with this server, for whatever reason. There are rumours he's working on other peoples' servers, I don't know how true this is, or maybe he's just busy irl, or even just bored of this project now. The only updates are minor tweaks and as pob has said there has been very, very little content added in the last few months.

BH, this isn't a dig at you as you're by far the most active staff member here and I think you do a good job in general. You've propped this server up since Sam has got bored/gone awol, and imo you've given it a few extra months of life thanks to the drop updates and other tweaks. But it does seem now that we got told the SAME thing every time someone asks about when the next update will be. People are crying out for content. other servers are adding new content/features all the time. I know you say there's stuff in the pipeline, and you don't like giving dates/details since Hellgate, but as a concerned player I can honestly say the team NEED to give the players something tangible soon.

You say the player count is the same, but it isn't, and you've only got to talk to the hardcore players to realise they're getting seriously bored and are leaving in their droves. Players will only put up with 'we're working on stuff' for so long, and it's wearing thin now. It's time for some honesty in regards to the future of the server, and some proof that new content IS coming in the near future, and by this I mean screenshots/videos, and yes, a rough estimate of dates. And that's aimed at Sam more so than yourself as I know it's his server and he's the lead developer. So please, can we have some news (with proof) that doesn't go along the lines of 'we're working on new things, it's coming soon'.

This post is meant as feedback, not criticism.

Sam is not working on other servers, not that I know of anyway, we have all been busy, I have always said family comes first.

We do work on stuff daily, I have set aside most of tomorrow and Sunday to work on stuff but it takes time and testing.

The stuff for Halloween is something different.
I am also working on new subs and new caves, there are new spells being tested, a totally new unique system, new quests among other things.

If I get a chance tomorrow I will post something but please do not hold me to it.

I know these are just words, you will just have to trust me.

As I have said, there are no plans for the server to go anywhere, sure yesterday the team where talking about what to do for Christmas.

I don't post much on the forums or even check the forums often, but I am still around from a management perspective.

The user count is expected to drop when new servers come up, although (and this isn't a dig, all you have to do is login to realise) you won't the same standard of quality than Chronicles.

There is lots in the pipe line and as BH has already mentioned, Chronicles is still the most advanced, professional and wholesome set of private files that has ever been available in the history of Mir and will continue to be around as long as there are players to play.

It's nice to see replys guys, I really enjoy this server.

I have no interest in lvling and only play to boss and pvp. However as some one above stated why not just add some small content I.e new items lvl43-50 those sub bosses BH has spoken about.

Just to add a bit of freshness. Last thing I want to see is the hardcore leaving because they are bored. The main lot in evolution/team and ofc forsaken keep the game interesting for me.

Thanks again :)

I don't play this server but I do know a lot of work is being put in to it that isn't always obvious to players when they log on.
As for new content, it's one of the hardest things to devise for the game.
You can't just press a button and "hey presto" a new range of items or mob appears, it takes a hell of a long time to create and get working to a level that warrants inclusion into a server.

100% correct. The average Mir player doesn't know how time consuming it actually is to make any new content for it to then be tested and implemented into the game by developers to ensure that the content won't ruin the balance of the server. To do something like this takes a lot of time and preparation.

And yet your the slowest in using them to their potential, in the history of Mir.

1 real update in what 8-9 months? Which by all accounts flopped.

There has been plenty of updates, maybe not massive amounts of new content but certainly a **** ton of bug fixes, cheat prevention and bot prevention. Sadly the last two take up a server owners time far more than it should so you never really get time to focus on new flashy features that you all so crave.

Personally if I was to ever run a server again I'd have updates created before even launching the server cause once it launches and is hopefully a success like Chronicles is you suddenly don't have time to work on it because you're too busy fighting the fires that pop up. Luckily it does seem the Chronicles team have gotten on top of Cheats and Bots (as far as I can see) so that will give them more time to work on getting updates to players.

Not really excusing the Chronicles team here either from talking to both BH and Sam they'd love nothing more than to of gotten content out quicker, but it is what it is. The Server will live and die from it's updates (of actual new content), they do know that.

Must be nice to be the one and only GOD of Mir and know it all?
Please, enlighten us all some more...
We need more of your guidance and wisdom during these troubled times.

Again, there's lots of talk about these files being the most advanced, but what the community sees is other servers posting proof of new content, new features etc, yet it's been a while since chronicles had any major update.

Also, the 'chronicles will be around as long as there are players to play' line...aren't you reading the signs? The player count is dropping and people are outgrowing the content, and if people continue to leave at their current rate there will be few players left to support the server. You're being given golden feedback here from the customer and perhaps you guys really have been working on loads of cool stuff for the last 3/4/5 months, but the verbal promises can only go so far before people start losing patience. Even if this new content isn't quite ready to release into production, surely the team must be in a position to release some teasers to keep the player base interested. If you're not, then it will beg the question of what exactly has been being worked on for the last few months.

Everyone appreciates the work that's been and being done on bots/cheats, and in that respect this server is up there with the best. And that's why you could maybe do yourselves a favour by keeping the community at bay with something other than 'we're working on stuff', as I agree - people don't often appreciate how long new content does take to develop to a standard that's ready for release.

Again, these are suggestions/feedback and not intended as criticism.

This has been said since the server opened, and the Usercount has never dropped below 100 so I'd say they're doing alright (but that doesn't mean it couldn't be better). With each new update brings back a bunch more players - but only the hardcore Mir players stick around on any server for extended periods of time. Most people get bored of Mir in general and so take a break (like myself)

New players/ex players come and go frequently, it's just how Mir is. Having been back for just a few days I've already noticed quite a lot of fights between guilds and the rivalry still exists.

Updates are on the way and improvements are always made when possible. Can't really expect any more than that, if you are then I think you're playing the wrong game.
