You're missing the vital point of how much HP tori has. If gatekeeper wipes groups out, how can I solo? I have great dps, but not something that overrides a whole group.
We've wiped before when we were able to spam sunpots.
Mages are there to cause damage and resurect other mobs too.
Im not sure exactly what your asking the question for. Gatekeeper does a lot of damage but is tankable by all classes, some better than others obviously, but all can do it. Unless somebody didn't bring the right pots or makes a mistake, gatekeeper is straight forward to organise.
The Mages however cause a ****load of problems, surely that's the reason they are there. Tanking the gatekeeper is hard, tanking the gatekeeper and 1-2 mages is very hard and will usually kill anybody, and this (aside from mistakes) is what will cause most wipes. If you run in and the mages take a liking to your tao, things can go wrong very quickly, if they start doubling up on your dps and taking them out 1 by one, again its hard to deal with. The mobs can be moved away from the mages so that the resurrect isn't an issue. If you kill both mages, they respawn, so surely they are there to make the GK kill harder, not to simply res mobs around it.
Moonlight bypasses a fundamental part of the actual boss kill as the mages are made irrelevant, they stand and watch. The only question then is damage output and regen.

Does gatekeeper not hit like em? For example if you close to someone u get hit more/harder? Therefore meaning it's actually easier to solo then kill in a big Grp like most big bosses In this game. I find that grps of 4 or more go wrong Alot more then grps of 2 or 3 don't u agree Shaun?
A tori said, its more like RME with some other added things that catch people out, im sure Tori is aware of them as from what I gather that other main mechanic is what they had trouble with early on, that one mechanic seemed to be the main reason we were killing it regularly before Team, as we clocked on early.
Also, iv posted it above aswell but for the purposes of replying to your points directly. The Gatekeeper specifically spawns 2 mages, and if you kill them, he respawns them, so the kill is intended to be done with 2 Mages there, they are an actual mechanic of the boss.

Like I've said all along, make demon king a hard boss to kill and not something that can be kited with 2-3 people. You say you don't want people to be redundant? Make a boss that the whole guild can get stuck into, not just ranged and a Tao. Allow sunspots so you can melee kill instead of melee being a pot runner for everything?
It was forsaken who said things were fine as they were, and that we should adopt the, tactics to kill things?
I agree, DK should also have mechanics that make it much harder to do with tiny groups, but it has just recently had an upgrade, though it seems to just have made the actual group kill abit trickier, rather than deal with the 2 man type issues. They also seem to have messed with something else which makes no sense, but ill leave that to the PM to staff so as not to highlight potential easier kills further.
DK has other problems that make it rather irrelevant when compared to GK at this time though, its a massive r/s time, time consuming to get to (not to mention GK needs to be dead) and also drops utter shite following a fix to the previous drop file which was bugged.
GK is currently a much bigger issue, as its drops are far from shite.
