    Demand.

Well I don't have a program that tells me how hard it is to pull :P - but what I can tell you is that recently I've not seen more than 2 LOMCN servers catch 15-40 in one night. As for exp rates - "Mir2 server help" caters for questions about setting up a server. /Leo
  4. LeoCrasher

    Demand.

The global player count has dropped around 35% at peak time since 2004, whereas the 3-4am traffic remains about the same. Now at 6pm-10pm a server can reasonably expect to pull around 15-40 players if its good, and 5-15 if its not so good. Unless you can pull players from outside the LOMCN...

not sure if it's the right section but regarding a laptop

To be brutally honest with a spec like that, any piece of **** will do. The only thing I recommened is that you go for one from a reputable company (e.g. Dell, Sony, Acer, etc) with good battery life. Obviously it might help if its from the "ultraportable" catagory if you want to use it on the...

    extention changer

You want to convert a file that could be practically anything into an executable? Sorry Dano but thats just not going to work. Unless you change the extension of the file yourself and it works - the *.dat file probably isn't an executable. Perhaps if you provide more details we can be of more...

    Help Section = Flame?

And that isn't MIR related banter - so you've got the wrong section. ;) As for what ur on about, the reason people do that is once they've acquired certain skillsets the bases become overly simple. Thus what often occurs is some mild form of arrogance. You'll find it a lot in acedemic...

    06/06/06 tomorrow (666) OMG nooo

OOOH, I get it. I got you with the LOMC'N' thing now its your turn? WELL, even *IF* I did mean 1006, it still wouldn't be 1006 if you go by my line of reasoning. As it would be 6/6/1006. The only qualifying years imo is 6/6/6, */6/66, */*/666, etc. (Bet yous are the same people that call this...

    06/06/06 tomorrow (666) OMG nooo

Not quite. In minimal form the date would be 6/6/2006. Correct dates should never be expressed with two digits. A fully correct ISO date would be 20060606 so even that counts it out. Even still, its happened before. Now you don't hear much about the devil from 1066 do ya ;). Just crazy battles...

    UCT Time???

You mean UTC? Nevertheless UCT/UTC is Universal Coordinated Time. Its just another name for GMT, don't worry about it. What you should worry about is that here in the UK, we're currently operating in BST (British Summer Time). Or GMT + 1 Hour. Heh /Leo

not sure if it's the right section but regarding a laptop

@Tofas 1. No, notebooks tend to be a bit bigger and heavier. Name was given to get around the assumption that you can put it on ur lap. Thus, avoiding court cases involving burns. Google: MacBook Pro women burns 4. There are plenty of laptops that have admirable specifications, however within...

not sure if it's the right section but regarding a laptop

Tell us what you intend to use it for... as a lot of people that end up with laptops would be much better off with a standard desktop system. /Leo

I take it Belkin routers don't sell to well in CA then? Most the routers I find unsecured are Belkins. /Leo

    Autopatcher question

The linked plistgenerator will compress your files into the GZIP format and output the correct entry for the plist file. It doesn't matter which machine you do it on. /Leo

    Autopatcher question

I feel its better for the PLAYERS to use Wemade's solution since only the people who use Limewire or Azureus are likely to have the Java VM already. It is however invariably easier for the server owner to use Kaori's solution (especially when you have no understanding of FTP servers). I very...

Heh, no. The MSVM I think is for J++ web applications only. /Leo

    Autopatcher question

The wemade patcher is the one that comes with EuroMIR. Its a LOT less feature rich than KaoriPatchGZ, and much harder to use but doesn't require the Java VM. It also requires the use of an FTP server, preferably read only or anonymous. And its also a nightmare to configure correctly. You can...

    Autopatcher question

Kaori is obviosly in a better position than myself to advise on the usage of her KaoriPatchGZ applet, however I'll give it a go. The path itself is not as important as the WEMADE patcher, as Kaori cleverly utilises HTTP instead (also meaning you don't need an FTP server). If you have a...
