hey my college is to poor to afford its own web so it gets a deal from the county (uk) which blocks absoloutly most websites. and displays the message' Blocked by websense' is there anyway of getting around this *******, as it blockes even the most remedial sites and is beginning to piss me off.

blam. can you do us a favour and rename your proxy folder. they'll easily discoved ur site and block it out with it being called proxy.

i've never come across websense. I know they used to use a crap blocker when i was in school. Where if you used the ip instead of the addy you can visit the site

weve got crappy bess at school, keeps blocking all the loopholes that we find aswell, its annoying when your trying to do work, and it wont even allow you to use google images! like wtf!!

we've just had a new web blocker installed called bloxx, no idea if its any better. but atm web sense and bloxx are clashing with each other and letting us visit most sites :P

lol in my old school they tried blocking the internet by takin away the internet explorer icon :O we just went into publisher, created a new webpage and clicked preview and we cud go on any site we wanted ^_^

Our school has the net filtered as well (using Squid) But it uses "identd" to get your username so that teachers can be less/not filtered.

But, because i bring my laptop to school, i have in conveniently setup so that the ident requests reply with the username of the head ICT teacher (whom has totally unfiltered access) \o/
