I'll try and help portray on why some servers get shut down and others don't. This server's been up 10 days and has a donation system for some items currently in-game, seem odd? Yes by quite a large margin, the user only joined this year also, now let's look at Project69's and Fourheroes server owners, they'd been around a good 1-2 years, still quite active and then released a server.

A lot of people rule this out, I'm not saying this server host will screw people over but it does indeed seem suspicious on quite a high level. There will always be arguments over donation servers but there will also be the point where you have to look at that facts and not be blissfully ignorant.

As i said before if you read the thread not everything is donatable for, however exp chests and some items will be. Simply to cover the dedi costs. If you would rather give me the cash to pay for the dedi ill take donations straight off the server. However i wont be paying for the dedi as well as giving away my time to get the server set up and keep it updated and running. I dont mind spending time on the server, i do mind losing my own money on it.

That's fine of wanting donations to keep a server up, but what happens with the money that covers the dedi, basically the left overs, do they get spent on the next month and then the dedi npc is removed for some time or? In all due honesty the dedi argument has been used for a very long time and yes that's fine wanting to be paid for spending your time on a server but you've got to also remember that the argument may not last forever as they're not that pricey nowadays if memory serves one right.

That being said, good luck with the server and i do indeed hope it stays up.

I joined this forum about 4-5 years ago. Any mod can confirm that with an ip check lol just made a new account as its easier for people to know who i am then.

Server isnt up yet either, will be up in about 10 days and GG npc isnt even done yet, the old GG npc from previous evo is still in, which testers will confirm to.

Will always keep 3 months of donations incase of no donations for a while, its a policy i beleive mmorpggeek does with there other servers as well, it means theres never a loss in service. Anything over that amount will go to me, but from expereince of last evo that left about £20 lol which is about 30mins overtime lol for months worth of work

Also trying to say that some how the server will be dodgy because it hasnt been running for a year is not only idiotic its also ill informed.

My apologies on the bat for reading this under the wrong section, i'd only recently woke up, and not really surprisingly to how many donation servers have gone through LOMCN and got away with money, do not think it's idiotic or ill informed i went off what was given in front of me.

If you've been here longer than fair enough, i retract that part of the statement, none the less goodluck it's nice to see the donation system was well thought through.

Well i've decided im not going to start mir agian until this or another fresh server comes out, donations or not... to me it doesn't make a pennys worth of difference, and I think the topic on donations should be droped
if the donation plan is followed accordingly there shouldn't be any problems.
