Please make mounts findable. Mounts are a huge status symbol and something to hunt thats rare and amazing keeps people playing.

Thing is though the people that are more likely to donate are those people with money.
Money comes from working... If your working your not playing the game...
Those people who say they 'grind', thats fine but not everyone is on the dole.
I always saw donations as a way for people who couldn't play as much to catch up to those that played 8-12hours a day.

thats how I see it.

Whilst in theory this makes perfect sense, in reality you always have those who both do not work and are willing to spend ridiculous amounts of money to be on top. The other issue is that in the evening (when the majority are off/finished work) you have the highest volume of big group hunts where the higher XP is gained.

Also let's not forget that this is a private server and whilst I'm perfectly fine with donating £5-10 per month I simply will not play if there is no restriction which then allows others to spend £100s in order to stay ahead.

Because its a low rate level won't matter when it comes to past level 40-50.
The exp potions could quite easily work within level ranges, to aid the lower levels more...
Level 1-25 EXPx1.4 Level 25-35 EXPx1.3 Level 35-40 EXPx1.2 Level40-50 EXPx1.1

yer fk em. i dont buy this cant afford bull/s. A quid to join a guild is reasonable. contribute to the game you wanna play or fk off.
fair system.
I'll give you one example of why this is a stupid idea, yes the majority of the server are adults however there are still youngsters out there whom played ace and will probably play chronicles.. Please tell me what kid below the age of 16 owns a bank account which is useable online including pay pal, who have no source of income and rely on their parents? Yes it's only a pound but who's parents want to pay for their child to play an addictive game which in return could make them go into hibernation pretty much! Or stop them studying for exams etc etc, very stupid and dimwitted idea, splits the community, I for one do not stereotype youngsters but rather judge them on the individual and this just prevents them from making friends and becoming a real part of the server.

The way I see it, as long as the items you get are in drops as well. Put whatever you like.

I don't see why people that have money to throw away should get anything 'extra' on top of real players.

GameShop should be for people to cba to hunt for stuff, obviously leaving out the stupidity such as actual items. But if you put exp pots in, then they should also drop from bosses an stuff

+1

I'll be honest, even selling (non-rare) items isn't a bad idea. They're just walking PK targets that upkeep the server, and providing it can all be gained from bossing anyway, what does it matter. I do disagree with exp pots though if it's a low rate. 1.2x is fine but, one per day as mentioned tops.

The most fun I've ever had on a server was on OldSkool where there were a guild of donators, against basically the rest of Mir because everyone wanted a piece of that gear.

The only thing you shouldn't sell, is orbs/gems as this can severely imbalance the game when those with more money than sense come along.

Basically, as long as the server isn't "pay to win", then you're doing a good job.

What about selling stones in the cash shop they expire on death and could give a very small stat boost.

Crazier is...

We're sorry to announce Chronicles of Mir will close on April 1st, This is despite our best efforts, we were unable to raise enough funds to cover the costs of the Server and general game upkeep." Thank you & goodbye.

That is of course, if its opened by then :P

If they cant raise £30 a month for a dedicated server then they need to stop what they are doing now tbh

the dedi is about £80 a month i think they said.

good things for the gameshop are torchs with say dc1-2 and maybe a dc1-3 stone ( also for sc/mc)

exp pots are a bad idea imo.

Look you insensitive little prick don't give me that ****. You still don't understand, a youngin under the age of I think 16 cannot posses a bank card eligible to pay for stuff online I assume including setting pay pal up, do you suggest they post this pound coin? Stop thinking about stuff that your happy with and consider others, I'm pretty sure Samuel already has plans for the donation scheme and to be honest it's most likely going to work.

Not 100% sure, but i 'thought' you had to be 18 to set up a PayPal? Might be wrong.

Awww did i hit a nerve? lots of personal insults xx.
where did i say they had to set up a paypal?
if they wanna play and it meant paying a quid, they will find a way, if its mum, dad, big brother, granny, friend of a friend they would pay.

18+ to have a PayPal account.

16+ to PAY to a PayPal account as long as you have a debit card (Get one at 16)

I shouldn't worry about finding parents who allow their kids to throw their lives away...there all pretty **** these days.

I would worry more about the player base that would be lost upon a forced payment. GameShop is one thing, but I wouldn't pay dick to play...at the end of the day, a ripped off game. If I end up using GameShop that's my choice, but won't be paying for entry lol

A very simple solution...

For £5 a month you purchase an XP boost item that expires at the end of each month.

- Set the normal XP rate to x1 (normal rate)
- Make the monthly XP booster x3 (current rate)

All donations problems are solved. No need for cash shop or additional donation page.

this would work great, although normal rate x2 I think to keep it fair for <18s who cant donate. No exp pots!

A server capable of hosting this game is NOT £80 a month, a decent Virtual Server from various hosting companies are more than capable of hosting the server. And cost around £30.
