has anyone else experienced countless failures producing gems. It says 80% and have bodyluck 5 but at this rate im getting less than 20% success in maufacturing. 3 failures in a row?????????? Cmon that cant be right:livid:

oh well back to the mine......

Had 3 fail in a row, had 10 work in a row, it is an 80% chance so on average you will make 4/5 gems

thanks for the maths lesson m8 law of averages would say if u try 3 youd be fkin really unlucky for all to fail ......since posting i m told guild buddie tried 2 ice gems an evasion and speed for only 1 to manufacture thats complete **** 12m down the swanny

But on a mir server you'll only hear the negative things, there will be people who just made 5+ without fail and they keep quiet because they're happy with it.

Any chance we can have semi rare ore introduced into the game that gives 100% success rate...what would be the problem with that???? then we dont have to bloody mine all day...rant over (ofc i could stop gambling my cash away playing poker during sw )

If a semi-rare ore was introduced due to price and demand the cost of ingredients+ore would equal the gem you were making. The system as it stands is a moneymaker for lots of people.

Just like poker stars if you keep playing you'll always hit a bad streak :P if you never make gems again after having a shitty run your experience of it will obviously be negative. Keep making them and you'll balance out at 80% and get some nice profit on the way.

i have to say, i tihnk its dumb these can fail. it takes maybe 2 hours of hunting/mining to make a gem only for it to fail, then even if your lucky enough to make one, its then another risk, i personally think gems should create 100% of times.

100% creation isnt a bad idea.
the way it is at the moment it will soon be pointless to try and make sc/mc ones to sell (almost is already) as the margins just arent there with the failed attempts.

yup,

+.... You just uneccessarily piss people off. why would a game wanna piss people off... not every 1s rich enough to make gem after gem.

I think of the 20+ gems I've tried to make maybe four or five actually succeeded which is a bummer and now I just buy stuff :D

From a more logical standpoint with guesswork, one would think if the 80% mat cost reflected accurately, gems wouldn't be much more than their component cost, when they're actually rarely less than double base market material cost and still rather easy to lose money on due to inconsistent/high failure rate.

80% works 80% of time i have alot more gems work than fail so i believe theres fk all wrong with it.

Gems even in euro had a decent chance to fail, it's easier to upgrade equipment than it is to find an added stat item, I think the success rate is fine and Harry's explanation is spot on (enjoyed the poker stars reference) some of you may not have gambled before and don't understand the logic of chance, a bandit is 79% payout but you can put £50 in and not get anything out, you'd be damn unlucky but it happens, i do however think the +3 cap should be reviewed to maybe +5 obviously with harder chance of success this would make gems more valuable again as people with +3 gear will start gemming and breaking again making them buy more gems and increasing sc/mc/Dc gem value / prices

Gemming on most other servers is too easy. Mining is too easy. Making gems never fails.
Super kits on euro took ages to make with many expensive fails along the way.
Here you can run 2x miners while you play yr main on the same pc and more miners on another.
Why shouldn't there be some balance to that? Like failing to make

And I don't think Law of Averages can be applied to Probability
Its all algorythms mate

ok 80% chance of success but 4 fail in a row?? probability? so remote even im not that unlucky. From looking at other posters im not the only one...therefore in summary even though npc says chance of success is 80% is obviousley not. Rage lol no...i just wont waste my time in future and pk miners for the plat instead...sorted
