Just wondered what everyone was thinking of Apocalypse at the moment, I think it would be good for the GM's to read through what their players genuine thoughts are about their server without going in to detail about specific moans and problems.

For me personally, I think there was so much potential for this server, but the lack of testing/beta and constant changes has spoiled it for me, several people i've spoken to feel this way and have all but quit. These constant changes seem to have too many knock on effects and therefore GM's - to me seem to be constantly chasing their tails.
I dont play as much as alot of people so I will admit there is alot of the game i've not seen yet (and probably wont) but it just seems there is reboots galore with small fixes, balancing and general tweaks that surely should have been ironed out in the 3 years of testing during the making ive heard about. Is there a reason there wasn't a beta stage to help with this?

People dont want to be playing a class for someone else to cry OP or this that n the other and then to have things changed and disturbed every 5 mins. E.g. last night hopped on for brief hour if that, Elec shot was fixed, and apparently buffed? I may not have noticed before is all but it appeared to be that the spell now would (if mobs were in a straight line) literally hit each (but weaker the bigger the line) before it hit 2-3 and would bounce back to first but hit those 3 harder... again might just be me not realising thats how spell was always meant to work, not a cry just why the change? I only played archer which hasnt had much done to it so god knows how other classes feel.

What does everyone else think? Are people going to stick around longer than new year? Are these constant changes going to just be the norm? For me, kinda lost interest in the server. :nonchalance:

A big shame in my opinion as the GM's, i have alot of respect for and praise their work ethic, obviously very passionate and keen, but the planning hasn't quite been there.

Had massive hopes for server and could have gone places but was disappointed, its like the GMs have no clue

I agree with what you've said. I definitely enjoy the server but all in all it feels very unpolished. For example, I've lost multiple hours of rested experience over and over again since I started playing. And I'm sure it doesn't bother most, but I don't think I've seen a single line of NPC dialogue that doesn't contain some kind of typo or misspelling. It just feels unfinished.

I think they have done a ok job but they could do with another member on the team who knows a lot more about the files.
They have overlooked a few issues and i've never seen a server where certain people are told certain things ahead of changes, this has happened a few times.

Uc says it all its #1 atm but content and balance wise its way behind.

Recalling certain players or groups to balance classes didnt work either
After 43 weps archers with red and ue hit over 350 ranged, pretty much most hits

Idk the name of the skill but its beyond broken for a ranged skill
Especially after a few moans about a 200 damage FD

The lack of transparency on certain subjects just gives me a dodgy feeling all-round, even before it was live. The blatant lies and refusal to acknowledge/answer questions regarding the GS made it clear they knew exactly what they were doing there. And I have no tollerance for liars.

Testing is long and tedious, we know, but clearly they didn't test anywhere near enough, even the short time i played that was apparent. No open Beta was just silly.

Aside from the usercount, i can't think of anything that set this apart.
Maybe they had good intention, maybe not. I disliked it so i didn't play it.

Releasesd far too early with too many issues and taken bad balancing advice from players who are just pushing changes to suit their own agenda.

Really is a shame - as the server has huge potential and clearly have very talented workers on board.

Problem is you, the GM team either need to invest some time into playing the game in real time for yourselves or employ a few (UNBIASED) people to do so - one of each class. As the current method clearly doesn't work. Making rash changes to game simply based on outcries and moans in game and on forums does not work.
You need to play the game for yourselves to get a proper feel of the game - and no, making a character with certain lvl and kit and testing on bosses and caves does not work

So I would like to start by saying we'll done to the apoc team as clear they update a good bit, but have given us a server that seems to be lasting for a bit and seem to have invested a good bit of time in it.

I unfortunately agree with some of the points and keeping with the opening of the thread to stay quick, factual and keep any moaning aside my thoughts:

1) it was amazing to play a mir 2 server with should a high user count on a low rate that made joining and hunting in guild pretty much mandatory loved this

2) Server doesn't feel like it offers a different experience to euro beside archers

3) the tao buffs were appreciative maybe a bit too strong in all areas rather than just one but no skills or items that feel new or unique in any way

4) Cave balance is way off. Example there is cave in South East PI think hell cave...if you can kill mobs in there why would you go anywhere else?

5) GM actions even are often feel reactive rather than proactive example bugs or hacks happen, reasrcher then patched which is fine but feel like it is often and with likes of asking for people to get in contact to get shards refunded seems like a long and daunting task where has to be much more efficient process to achieve same goal

6) too many skills off. As a mid 20ish maybe late 20ish tao I shouldn't be able to survive multiple FD from a 40+ wizz. Just one example but feel there is plenty

7) For a low rate I don't feel like grinding and grinding is going to get or give me something I didn't accomplish on euro so once the nostalgia wore off so did my interest.

I think server could of been really great. I don't think it is 3 years in the making and I hope team pull something out of the bag that makes the community sht the bed and have a very successful server even into 2019.

server is fun, content is decent.

Big boss drops are simply not worth killing; or rather, they drop too little/not often enough to feel rewarding compared to spamming sub bosses. This is a problem. 40 weps coming more often from subs than these big bosses is just wrong imo. Some of these bosses have near 6hour respawn timers!

Mob damage on this server is just overall overtuned, which creates places that used to be great, into terrible places to go to. I miss Euro ZT cave hunt clearthroughs. The EXP here and 1/5 SuperZumaGuardians make this place a nightmare. As a wizard, I am annoyed I am forced to FW-Lightning level since I obtained the spells. Killing bosses is also a chore, but i've no idea how, or if you should, fix that for wizards. I feel like our niche is gone, with nothing to replace it.

The exp tables here are... something else entirely. I feel like everyones best skills are locked behind a massive wall you will never climb, MetStrike for example one of wizzies core skills to kill people is just simply out of reach for 99% of the usercount. 50 for CrescentSlash... and so on. Unless there's a massive expansion with new easier exp caves I'm not aware of, people will give up. That's assuming they can get them to drop, as currently it feels every euro boss isn't worth killing over a bunch of sub bosses. Almost identical drops due to the 1 drop system, I appreciate they may have the "small chance at a big item" but 999 times out of 1000 that isn't the case. Perhaps adding a few "unique" drops to these bosses would help aleviate the boredom/staleness of bossing.

I think server still has loads of potential, they just need to iron out the problems.

I am enjoying the server tbh overall and the user count i expect to stablise at 150-200 like zircon. I would have preferred the server to be more low rate instead of medium but that’s just my personal preference.

Class balancing ever changing not fussed about this as it’s similar to league of legends always buffs and nerfs and its always for the greater good. Always said there should have been a high exp BETA for a month to iron our initial problems and would have saved the cries...but too late for that now.

Dynamic shards are a problem that can be sorted quickly and should be sorted straight away without asking for them to be. Ppl know there mis using and should receive temporary bans.

Theres still a good chance for this server if they iron out the remaining problems, and I think it will be make or break Christmas event to see if everyone sticks around new year....not actually sure what is gonna be the best case event for Christmas? Wouldn’t like to shoot myself in the foot with so much to be hanging on the balance.

Maybe be similar to Halloween but not as long. I did enjoy the event but because it was so long everybody got multiple chars to 40 then didn’t no what to do with them after. Basically 0-40 content effectively skipped. As quick as it is all efforts need to be on content 40-50 now and a catch up mechanic for Christmas, as that’s where the servers at now believe it or not after a short couple of months.

It was fun when I played it, the UC did a lot for me though.

Knee Jerk balance changes to the biggest criers is what ruined it.
There were great posts where people tried to justify what was and wasn't working about their class (you take on board these)
There were posts where people would but "This spell OP" which is the ones they seemed to react to.

They always balanced around their end game which (back when it was all mentioned) no one had hit yet.
Balance is an evolution so you balance around your current content, and adjust when new content is released; ofcourse then previous content is going to be easy, as you outscale it.

Massive potential at the start, kind of ruined by an early launch and lack of testing :( shame really.
No disrespect to the GM’s but it seems like they struggle to do some things? Or certain things are too hard for them? Maybe I’m wrong.
Hoping there’s still life left in the server as I enjoy it.

I can never bring myself to complain about a free game.
I've always liked Mir. I've occasionally donated.
It's never been a game you play forever anyway.
It's always been a winter stocking filler while the weather is shite.
once you reach your personal target... that's normally the beginning of the end.
I'm not bored... i'm not enthused.... just somewhere in the middle and enjoying it while there are a few players.

Something new would be someone taking the mir files and creating something new like......

- Planet Mir - the outer space expansion

OMG this guy with red poison on got hit by an uber geard archer with UD on (probably Hero ) and he got 350 dmg ... LETS nerf all archers !!
This is why this server has problems .. Cos GM-s r actualy considering comments like from this idiot ...

It is hard for me to reply to lots of this.

But ill just say a few things.

I think lots of people throwing the 3 years in the making around just dont get it, and its rubbish to say these files are just standard euro feel with an Archer.

Im sad that this is how the community feels, i can only say, we work on the files constantly and always improve things. Yes we make lots of live changes, we consistently work on balance and sometimes we get it wrong. A low apathy now for some right now, does not mean we are giving up, i also feel i speak to lots of people each day who tell me how much fun they are having.

A patch is currently being worked on right now, i would love to give you all the pic/vid previews but i want this perfect before we share.

The content of this game is huge, and i wont listen to people telling me otherwise (ignorant i may be called :P).

The usercount was always going to reach a point like this, i still think 200+ players online at a time anytime each day is amazing, and im grateful there are that many people logging on and playing each day. There are a couple of comments about bots, we deleted 7 of these yesterday, and have a new system which kicks botted accounts and logs them to us, so i know for sure there are not 30-40 like some plum is saying.

people mentioning the gameshop is laughable. The gameshop is dull and i dont blame people for not actually using it at the moment.

Heres a little spoiler of whats coming on the new patch:


  • New cave - End tier boss, with a good leveling cave aimed for both, melee and ranged.
  • 5 new spells, 1 for each class, level 41 on each of the spells, not super rare, but a good spell for all.
  • BDD expanding.
  • Archer changes as promised, but to be sure they are not doing nothing in pvp, whilst ensuring they are not 2 hitting players.
  • Wizzard spells such as Blizzard, being adjusted, blizzard seems a little lackluster. icestorm(too strong)
  • looking at refining. (hopefully getting this more fun)
  • Hoping to have BattleGrounds in, but this is not proving as easy as initially thought.
  • Drops have been increased an amount for top tier bosses to have an increased chance of multiple items and make them feel more valued in comparison to subs
  • Lowering sub 30 EXP for new players.
  • Looking at mining having a place in the game.
  • Lords spawning in each village.

I appreciate lots of the feedback, and we will continue to work hard to get to a point where users are happy with changes we make, but as many of you will know, its impossible to please everyone. Everyone has different views.

im trying on the forums to take a step back and not get involved with answering silly posts, but this took the biscuit and actually made me giggle, and defiantly wanted to add a reply.

This is soley referring to your interpretation on what YOU think should be in the gameshop. Despite your ignorance to the situation i can assure you our gameshop is being used about as much as the refining system ingame, (which as someone i assume does not play the game, may not know) is very little, simply because the gameshop offers very little once you are at a level you are happy with.

To be frank, im quite ok with this fact too, however nice it may feel to be rewarded for how much work we are putting in, im not here to be greedy, the success of the game is very important to me and the team.

I think your skepticism is exactly whats wrong with some members of the community, and despite adding so little to the gameshop that actually effects the game, your still unhappy. So many people thought we would have a gameshop with completely unfair advantages, and this is not the case, and it feels rewarding to show the community this was never the intention, but for some like yourself, we could add a can of baked beans to it and you'd find a way to be unhappy. This unfortunately is not a reflection of us, but of yourself and the perspective you decided to take before the game even went live.

It saddens me that this is the case, but lets face it, the general sensible person would read your comment and agree with me i would like to think.
