im probally on the verge of 2 GB's a day, depending on the mood and time i have (well i usually leave it d/led when im out of something).
the bloody HL2 demo was 700 MB's, thats almost half and it only took me like an hour (while on lomcn aswell lol).

but yea on average its only like 1GB but one day (i was bored) i think i did like 7, i also left my laptop on for 9 days w/o resetting or anything, after than it wouldnt work properly for abt a week then sorted its self out.
EDIT: oh and i d/led HL:S, full game (700mbs) pwns, HL2 d/l was like 4 gbs (did it in a day) but it didnt work (dont laugh :P) so i just brought it.
Some people are content with crap, but i on the other hand need something that can actually be used.
