Phoenix XE - Continues to focus on PvE and be family-orientated, many of our original players and staff from the early 2000's have reconnected here. Phoenix is a medium rate server, by comparison, however, with the introduction of the bloodline system, the current level cap is now at lv350 with appropriate content to match.

We run a highly customised Mir 3 server, drawing inspiration from the original Mir 3, Diablo, and Final Fantasy series of games, we've implemented many modern game client features, including discord, support for resolutions up to 4k, multiple displays, optional smooth movement, audio integration for beastiary information and skill descriptions, and now audio for quests too, We also have a highly customised raiding system allowing for Heroic, Mythic, Archaic and Primordial Instance Dungeons, each with unique challenges and rewards.

There are so many new features I can't even fit them all in a few posts here without having to skip out on the amazing features we have to offer. Please take a look through the patch notes for a detailed look at what we've added in the last 6 months alone.

Patch Notes - 13th December 2025

  • Taral Specific > Eternal Characters are now disabled (not needed on Taral). All existing Eternal Characters (and associated items) have been converted to seasonal.
  • QoL > Flickerstrike - Will now automatically change active target to the last hit, rather than the first targetted for the skill.
  • QoL > Shadowstep - Works over short distances outside of shadowrealm.
  • QoL > Shadowstep - Appears next to a target rather than on top of them.
  • QoL > Shadowstep - Allows targeting of Items and NPCs in addition to monsters and players. (traps! ambushes!)
  • QoL > Prevent inspection when in PvE and PvP combat situations.
  • QoL > Updated Magic Shield and Superior Magic Shield effects to render in the final draw layer so armour glow visuals no longer hide the shield aura, including their struck variants, to ensure the shields remain visible after being hit
  • Fixed an issue with raging wind calculations at higher levels and stats.
  • Fixed an issue with seasonal character not being able to correctly salvage a seasonal item in certain circumstances.
  • Fixed issue with flickerstrike that could cause other clients to lag, freeze or crash if nearby.
  • Fixed an issue with Shadow Army Skill Tree Key Binding on the client.
  • Fixed an issue with out of bounds walking location (thanks @FreeHeals / FlameOn)
  • Fixed pets attacking owners in some circumstances.
  • Admin -> Added server side config options to enable/disable Eternal and Seasonal characters.
  • Admin -> Added server side tools to convert all existing characters and items to Eternal or Seasonal.

Barista Archivists UpdatesThe Barista Archivist World bosses can now summon copies of fallen hardcore heroes as minions, more inline with their lore. These Fallen HC minions will show a fragment of the original heroes legacy, by reusing actual gear, stats and some skills that they had during the moment their legacy ended. (Because I'm a total troll)
  • Fallen HC Minions also have a chance of dropping copies of the original fallen heroes' actual equipment.

New Feature - Memorial System

Keeping a promise I made to the relatives of some of our players who have sadly passed away, We've added a new system aimed at remembering and honouring our previous players in a more meaningful way. Players can now visit memorial statues dotted about the game world and claim a new free weekly bonus. Bonuses differ from different statutes. To do this you simply need to find a memorial statue and drop a LARGE candle within 3 tiles of the statue to claim the statue's reward.
  • Added the following Memorial Statues for the first Memorial Weekly Quest.
    • Jetter
    • Nightwalker
    • SJOwen
    • Tallus
    • Maria
Player Guide
1) Find a memorial statue. Look for memorial statues in towns or gathering spots, some are even hidden in special locations.
2) Bring a LARGE Candle. Get one from drops, shops, or mails from other players.
3) Place the candle near the statue. Drop it within 3 tiles—the candle is consumed and a glowing memorial effect appears for a few seconds, once the effect stops you have claimed your bonus.
4) Earn the weekly buff. The first candle placed each week grants +2% Drop Rate and +1 Luck for 7 days. Each additional tribute during that week adds +1% Drop Rate and +1 Luck, up to 5 total tributes. Some statues give additional bonuses.
5) This is a weekly quest. Memorial pilgrimage is a player-controlled weekly quest that automatically starts when you place your first candle.
6) Repeat weekly. After 7 days, the current bonus will lapse. Place another candle to restart the buff after it has ended.

  • QoL > Added Block and Evasion to Stats area on character screen.
Image

New Feature - Advanced Item Sorting Options

Image

New Feature - Player Pickup Filters
You want more control? You do.. I know you do! So here's more control over what your manual pickup process [TAB] can do, find in the QoL Sub-tab of Andyifcation! it's disabled by default.
Image

Heritage Items Update

  • When a Heritage Relic is created the previous run stats will now form the basis of the items creation process, this includes:
    • the original items lootroll added stats
    • any current essence forged stats
All of this will be combined and added as a new heritage stat source,
  • If you are lucky enough to have an item infusion these will be applied after all of the above.
  • Heritage items will start with a fresh essence forge status (essence level 0).
What does this mean? It means you can continue to forge amazing equipment between your runs, breaking the conventional limits of regular items over multiple runs.
Image

New Feature - Hardcore Run Stats - Preview

You requested it, now it's here (that's sort of how it works!)
Image

  • Added new waypoints lineage HC reward option, which passes down any gained waypoints from the previous run.

Patch Notes - 17th December 2025

Status: “I made some tiny helper agents” → the codebase now has staff, HR, and a coffee-token economy.

🧩
The Studio Has Arrived (And It Demands Coffee Tokens)

Status: The game now has a dev team. They are small. They are tireless. They are paid in CT. This is somehow normal now.
This week introduced the Studio framework — a process for AI agent work to arrive in a predictable, trackable way (instead of a scroll of commits from the void). What’s new (player impact: indirect, but it keeps updates coming faster):
  • GitHub templates and checks wired for Studio workflows.
  • Agent issue templates + upgraded PR templates (prefix rules, labels, changelog entries).
  • Platform‑agnostic task packet queue (Studio work pipeline).
  • Signal changelog feed + patch notes publishing rules (“no entry, no merge”).
Translation:
The robots now have clipboards. Expect fewer “what even changed?” moments.

🧲
Loot & Pickup Quality‑of‑Life (Filters That Finally Behave)

Status: You told the game what you wanted to pick up. The game stopped being petty about it.

Player Pickup Filter Improvements

  • Added missing pickup categories (more things can be filtered properly).
  • Added an option to always pick up items on the tile you’re standing on (even if filters would normally block it).

Drop Filter → Pickup Filter Override (New Rule)

  • Any item you add in the Drop Filter tab can now bypass the Player Pickup Filter (if enabled).
Example: you can block picking up common consumables, but still always pick up oils. Translation:
You can now be a tidy loot goblin with selective standards. New categories added: Consumables and Mob Loot.

Image

🌘
Blade Dancer Fix – Dominion of Night Disconnects

Status: The shadows were so powerful they were disconnecting party members out of reality.
  • Fixed an issue where Dominion of Night could cause disconnects while grouped.
Translation:
Your darkness zone is now legal in multiplayer.

🛡️
Security & Privacy (Sentinel Was Not Amused)

Status: We politely asked the internet to stop being the internet.
  • Chat sanitisation: strips control characters and filters problematic input.
  • Fixed observer chat log injection vulnerability.
  • Enforced whitespace trimming in chat for cleaner logs and fewer weird edge cases.
  • Masked email addresses in server logs to protect personal info (PII).
Translation:
Less exploit potential, fewer “accident” moments.

🚀
Performance (Bolt Did That Thing Where FPS Goes Up)

Status: Thousands of pointless updates were escorted out of the building.
  • Particle system optimisations:
    • Cached texture sizes to eliminate loads of repeated lookups.
    • Reduced locking overhead in particle systems.
    • Improved particle culling/removal for less clutter and less CPU churn.
  • UI optimisation:
    • Hidden dialogs now stop processing updates when not visible (Rankings, Seasonal Stats, etc.).
    • MapControl rendering loops optimised (bucket sorting; faster per‑frame processing).
    • DXControl draw path reduced allocations for smoother UI.
    • Buff dialog processing optimised.
Translation:
If your UI used to chug while nothing was happening — it should now chill.

🐛
Bug Fixes (Glitch Cleaned Up The Gremlins)

Status: We caught multiple bugs and forced them to live in a jar.
  • Fixed Market Place Store buy count issues for items with invalid stack sizes.
  • Fixed persistent visual effects for Patreon/Ranking/Serenitee buffs not clearing properly.
  • Fixed crashes related to graphics disposal / finaliser thread behaviour.
  • Fixed D3D11 label alpha issue (black background behind text).
  • Fixed ParticleEmitter leaks attached to MirEffect objects.
  • Fixed Soulmon/Boss tokens not dropping if the monster dropped no other items.
  • Fixed Config window overlaps (radial menu controls clashing with footer buttons).
  • Fixed guild member contributions being double‑counted.
  • Fixed Tim Hass world boss behaviour incorrectly closing to melee for ranged abilities.
  • Fixed monster level sometimes displaying incorrectly in the monster info window.
  • Fixed Magic dialog scrollbar graphics.
Translation:
The client should crash less, lie less, and generally behave like it respects you.

🎨
UX & Accessibility (Pixel Made The UI Stop Being Vague)

Status: Buttons now visibly focus like they mean it. Also: tooltips. So many tooltips.
  • Standardised DXButton focus visuals across the UI.
  • Added a clearer pulsing focus border for active UI elements.
  • Added tooltips/hints to Game Config settings.
  • Added tooltips to Accessibility options and renamed the “Stop TTS” button.
Translation:
The UI now communicates like it has learned words.

💾
Data & Asset Housekeeping (Cache Put Things In Drawers)

Status: Someone finally labelled the cupboards.
  • Standardised monster asset naming conventions (PascalCase).
  • Cleaned up Config.cs structure (removed redundant attributes).
  • Standardised documentation filenames (PascalCase).
  • Removed unused icon assets.
  • Cleaned up orphaned .bak files.
  • Cleaned up stale task packets to keep Studio queue healthy.
Translation:
Fewer mystery files. Less “what is this and why is it here?”.

☠️
Hardcore Mode Integrity (Reaper Took The Fun Away From Exploits)

Status: Hardcore now means hardcore — not “hardcore until I find a loophole”.
  • Added delay to combat logging to prevent escaping death.
  • Added global server announcement when a Hardcore player dies (now as Marquee messages).
  • Improved Hardcore death logging (includes map context).
  • Fixed issue where Hardcore players could drop items on death (disabled drops).
  • Added panic safeguard to prevent accidental deletion of Hardcore characters.
  • Fixed exploit allowing Shadow Step to bypass walls.
  • Better condition checks when moving HC items via account storage / guild storage.
Translation:
Hardcore deaths are now real, loud, and much harder to cheese.

🧪
Gameplay Fixes & Balance

Status: Numbers were doing that thing where they look correct until you equip the item and reality collapses.

Raging Wind Defence Scaling Fix

  • Adjusted AC/MR recalculation so max values don’t collapse below the boosted minimum.
  • Preserved minimum defence increases by basing max reduction on stat range.
Translation:
Your defensive boosts should stay boosted, not “boosted until recalculated”.

Mana Conduit Timing Fix

  • Mana reductions now calculate from actual mana spent and trigger after casting.
  • Refunds apply even if the caster was at full mana before the spell.
Translation:
Mana Conduit now pays you back properly instead of shrugging.

Pet Threat Range QoL

  • Threat entries that move outside configured range are dropped.
  • Pet threat tables are leashed to their owner so pets focus nearby targets.
  • Added admin logging when distant entries are removed.
Translation:
Pets stop holding grudges against enemies three postcodes away.

📦
Loot Drop Safety Fix (No More Dropping Into The Void)

Status: Items were occasionally choosing violence by landing on blocked map cells.
  • Prevent item drops (including mass drop) from using blocked map cells.
Translation:
Loot should land where humans can actually pick it up.

🌟
New Feature: Essence Infusion (Elemental Stat Focusing)

Status: We let you re‑align elemental stats without burning precious Forge Essence Levels. Responsible power. Possibly.
What it does:
You can now focus / convert elemental stats on an item at any time without consuming an Essence Level. How to use:
  • Place a Level IV elemental manarite into the Stone slot.
  • Add the item you want to convert.
  • Choose the element focus you want.
Example:
Converting to Fire Affinity merges existing elemental stats into FireAttack. Costs:
  • Costs 1 durability per elemental attack stat converted (pulled from the manarite).
  • Higher stat conversions require larger manarites.
Supports:
  • Works with all 9 in‑game elements.
Extra note:
Because this uses the infusion service, it works on all items, not just weapons. Translation:
You can re‑tune elemental gear without paying the “Essence Level tax”.

Image

Image

🧙
Summoner UI – Support Skill Tab

Status: Summoners got a new drawer for their utility kit.
  • Added a new Support skill tab for Summoners.
Translation:
Your non‑damage tools now have a proper home instead of living in the “misc” pile. What’s in it: all positive self and party buffing skills.

Patch Notes - 18th December 2025

Status: “Just a couple of fixes” → somehow touched half the game again.

🔥
Essence Infusion Fixes & Improvements

Elemental science was doing crimes. We stopped it.
  • Elemental Attack Infusions no longer soulbind items
  • Added Off‑Hand support for Elemental Infusion (shields and similar items now supported)
Translation:
You can safely tinker with elemental stats again without accidentally marrying your weapon.

🧪
Event & Instance Fixes

The dungeon said “no re‑entry.” That was a lie.
  • Fixed an issue where event instances incorrectly blocked re‑entry after completion.
Translation:
If you finished an event dungeon, you can now go back in like a normal adventurer instead of being gaslit by the portal.

☠️
Hardcore Integrity Updates

Hardcore still means hardcore.
  • Enhanced Hardcore death handling and logging for better accuracy and consistency.
  • Continued tightening of Hardcore integrity rules behind the scenes.
Translation:
If you die in Hardcore, the server is very sure about it now.

🛡️
Security & Privacy

Your data deserves a cloak too.
  • Improved email masking logic in server-side utilities to further protect player privacy.
Translation:
Logs now know less about you. This is good.

🚀
Performance Optimisations

If it’s not visible, it probably shouldn’t be burning CPU.
  • Optimised Chat Tab processing when hidden.
  • Optimised ParticleEmitter update loops.
  • Optimised video control UI elements when not visible.
  • Reduced redundant item tooltip refreshes.
  • Improved UI visibility checks across windows.
Translation:

🎨
UX & Accessibility Improvements

The UI now explains itself instead of staring silently.
  • Improved clarity and layout of the Accessibility configuration tab.
  • Verified and finalised accessibility helper logic and text.
  • Fixed cosmetic preview rendering so equipment previews behave correctly.
Translation:
Fewer “is this broken or is it me?” moments.

🔧
Refactoring & Cleanup

Less spaghetti. More lasagne.
  • Refactored level‑based tier calculations for reuse.
  • Removed duplicated refine logic in crafting systems.
  • Cleaned and validated Config.cs structure.
  • Consolidated .gitignore rules and removed legacy files.
  • General cleanup to keep the build healthy.
Translation:
Nothing flashy. Everything happier.

⚙️
Gameplay Fixes – Healing & Overheal

Healing math was double‑dipping. We confiscated the ladle.
  • Fixed potion overheal applying multiple times.
  • Fixed skill‑based overheal stacking with consumables.
  • Fixed double potion healing from overlapping calculations.
  • Fixed consumable overheal modifier edge cases.
Translation:
You still heal a lot. Just not twice by accident.

🗿
Memorial Statue Buff Customisation

The statues now do more than judge you.
Memorial statue bonuses updated:
  • Jetter → +Luck, +Drop Rate
  • Nightwalker → +DC%
  • Tallus → +MC%
  • SJOwen → +AC%, +MR%
  • Maria → +SC%
Translation:
Boost combinations are now à la carte.

🛠️
Admin & Ops Tools

One‑click buttons were invented for a reason.
  • Added seasonal migration tools with summaries.
  • Added season launch email tooling with customisation.
  • Fixed skill book learning scope issues.
  • Skill books now grant capped experience correctly.
Translation:
Admins get fewer spreadsheets. Players get fewer broken seasons.. probably

🧹
Maintenance

The repo was vacuumed. It screamed briefly.
  • General maintenance and cleanup to keep the codebase healthy.

Patch Notes - 21st December 2025

Status: Patch was delayed. Agents did not stop. Coffee was harmed.

🔥
What Happened This Patch?

This one snowballed. The original patch was postponed, more fixes landed, Hardcore got scarier (but fairer), and Glitch fought reality itself. Here’s the clean, player-facing summary of everything that shipped.

🛡️
Security – “Stop touching the logs.”

Sentinel put on gloves. Several exploits cried.
  • Hardened sensitive key comparisons (activation, password reset, account deletion) against timing attacks.
  • Prevented log injection in Observer Chat and WebServer paths.
  • Refactored password reset emails to avoid unsafe HTML handling.
Translation:
If you were trying to be clever — you are no longer clever.

☠️
Hardcore – “Survive, but only just.”

Reaper tightened the rules. Panic now actually panics correctly.
  • Hardcore Panic Safeguards
    • Grants 5s invulnerability, clears poisons/bleeds, and sets HP/MP to 1 on arrival.
    • If Arcadia is blocked → emergency fallback to Bind Point.
  • Disabled teleport abuse:
    • No Town / Random Teleport while in combat.

Status: Coffee acquired. Fires put out. One rule partially un-unruled.

☀️
Morning Summary

This was a fast-response patch: a nasty D3D9 issue, a couple of Hardcore edge cases, performance trims, and a rules tweak that needed to happen now, not later.

Class Stat Cap Re-balancing

Hardcore V2

Lots of changes! You will want to check it all over here: https://discord.com/channels/707603153503387719/1470045616485826713/1470045616485826713

🌙
Druid Tuning – “The Great Unfreeze Patch”

We found the combo that was freezing Druids solid… and then we politely told it to stop existing.
A focused polish pass on several Druid shapeshift skills that, when used together, could previously cause client-side freezes or temporary lockups. The underlying effects remain the same, but the way they update has been made far smarter, smoother, and — most importantly — stable. Why this matters:
Certain combinations of Moonshadow Concord, Ascendant Shift (Cycle of the Wildheart), Thornweave Covenant, and form-swappingcould previously overwhelm the client with repeated identical updates. This is what caused some Druids to “soft-freeze” mid-combat or during transforms. The changes below directly target that issue.

What changed (in player terms)

🌑
Moonshadow Concord (Aura) – No more aura spam

  • Now behaves like a proper persistent toggle rather than a machine-gun of updates.
  • Pulses calmly every 15 seconds instead of constantly reapplying.
  • Lasts for 120 seconds, reducing unnecessary refresh traffic.
  • Still updates instantly when you swap forms (Wolf ↔ Bear ↔ Arachne).
  • Cleans up properly when allies leave your aura range instead of lingering awkwardly.

🐾
Cycle of the Wildheart – Smoother Ascendant Shift

  • Ascendant Shift is no longer “rebroadcast on repeat”.
  • It now only resyncs when:
    • the buff is missing,
    • its value actually changed, or
    • it is about to expire.
  • Result: far less transform-time stutter or freezing, same power.

🌿
Thornweave Covenant (Shield) – Smarter, quieter updates

  • Shield now refreshes only when:
    • its value changes,
    • a periodic sync is due, or
    • it is near expiry.
  • Same defensive behaviour — significantly less client strain.

🌀
Cleaner shapeshifts (Werewolf / Werebear / Arachne)

  • If there are no incompatible pets to remove, the game no longer forces a full stat recalculation.
  • Faster, leaner transforms with less overhead (and fewer hitching moments).

⚡
Primal Charge – No more UI jitter

  • The charge display no longer hard-resets every refresh.
  • It now clamps and updates smoothly through the normal flow.

Translation:

If you were experiencing freezes or momentary “Druid lockups,” this patch directly targets that problem. Your build feels the same — but your client should now stay responsive when things get spicy.

🗡️
BladeDancer -- Shadow Army Polish

We didn't give your shadows coffee. We just taught them how to behave.
A focused clean‑up pass on BladeDancer Shadow Army and related systems to make the kit clearer, smoother, and far less likely to misbehave.

✨
What players will notice

🔹
Skill Tree tidying (finally)

  • ShadowArts and UmbralArts icons have been fixed in the Skill Tree.
  • All Passive abilities now live in the Passives tree where they belong (no more treasure hunts).
🔹
Flicker Strike -- clearer, cooler, cleaner

  • Description updated to actually match how the skill works:
    • Blink‑strikes from behind.
    • Consumes all Ritual Charges for bonus damage.
    • Chains to additional nearby enemies based on charge count.
    • Grants a brief self‑haste on hit.
    • Deals extra damage when used inside the Shadow Realm.

👻
Shadow Army: "Less Chaos, More Control"

🖱️
Better Pet Controls

  • Shadow command buttons are now labelled in plain English (Recall/Dismiss instead of vague skill names).
  • Locked buttons clearly tell you which skill unlocks them.
  • All skill‑gated UI logic is now consistent across the panel.
🌫️
Visible Shadow Upkeep

  • When your shadows are draining mana, you'll now see it:
    • Mana label shows (-X/s) while upkeep is active.
    • Mana bar tints to a poison‑style colour.
  • You can no longer half‑pay upkeep - if you can't afford the tick, shadows are dismissed cleanly.
📏
Smarter upkeep costs

  • Upkeep is now percentage‑based per second:
    • Normal mobs: 0.5% max MP/sec
    • Sub‑boss: 1.5%
    • Boss+: 5%
  • Cost is rounded up each tick so edge cases can't get weird.
🔒
No more over‑summoning shenanigans

  • Effective summon cap now scales with Soul Weight (without consuming soul slots).
  • You can't summon duplicates of the same shadow profile while it's active.
  • The system now counts actual living shadows instead of trusting old trackers.
🗑️
Prune your Shadow Pool (new)

  • Each active shadow row now has a permanent delete button (
    🗑️
    )
    .
  • Requires confirmation.
  • Safely removes the profile from your pool, loadout, and any pending reconstitution, then dismisses any active copies.
🎯
Smarter shadow commands

  • Your chosen stance now persists properly across commands.
  • Abyssal Recall now uses the reliable pet recall path.
  • Shadow behaviors stay consistent instead of randomly desyncing.
📈
Passives actually level

  • Using Shadow Extraction, Arise, Shadow Rebind, Monarch's Command, or Abyssal Recall now correctly feeds their related passives.
⚙️
Less server churn, fewer spikes

  • Shadow level sync only happens when values change.
  • Aura/regen/haste support effects are throttled to avoid spam.
📸
Cleaner Shadow Snapshots

  • Extracted shadows now copy stats from the monster template instead of whatever chaos the corpse was in mid‑fight.

🧭
Translation

Your BladeDancer still feels like a commander of an angry shadow army - it just does it without freezing, desyncing, or summoning existential crises.

🌙
Taoist Tuning — The Great Harmony Patch

“Balance is not silence… it is very carefully calibrated chaos.” — Andy, probably

🧘‍♂️
Spiritual Ward — Cleaner, Smarter, Faster

  • Spiritual Ward now scales its cleanse timing with skill level.
  • Cooldown smooths from 120s → 60s as you level it up.
  • Group-cleanse breakpoints are untouched — higher levels still help your friends, as nature intended.
Translation:Less waiting, same team value.

🌊
Meditative Flow — Taoist Aura Glow-Up

Meditative Flow now actually feelslike a master support passive:

Radius Buffs (bigger hugs)

Your following spells now reach further when Meditative Flow is learned and levelled:
  • Mass Heal
  • BloodLust
  • Magic Resistance
  • Resilience
  • Elemental Superiority
  • Life Steal
  • Mass Invisibility
  • Purification (wider multi-target search)

Healing Cap Buffs (bigger numbers)

Meditative Flow now boosts healing ceilings for:
  • Heal
  • Mass Heal
  • Corpse Exploder (Holy only) — bigger holy boom-heal when you’re aligned correctly.
Translation:More range, more power, more “thank you Taoist.”

☯️
Duality — Expanded and Actually Useful

Duality’s dark/holy lock now matters for more of your kit, not just a few niche skills. New skills that now respect Duality andcan advance it when used successfully:
  • Searing Light
  • Explosive Talisman
  • Improved Explosive Talisman
  • Demon Explosion
  • Corpse Exploder
Translation:Your alignment finally feels like a core playstyle instead of a side quest.

💀
Soul Resonance — Hardcore Safety Patch

  • Softcore: unchanged (still spicy if you misplay).
  • Hardcore: no more forced instant death.
  • You now retain a percentage of HP based on skill level:
    retained % = max(0, 50 - (2 × skill level))
Translation:Skillful Taoists get a safety net. Panic button still recommended.

💥
Corpse Exploder — Smarter, Deadlier, Holier

Targeting feels less cursed

  • Now supports local auto-targeting if clicking a corpse is awkward.
  • Prioritises highest-level corpse first, then nearest.

Alignment behaviour

  • Dark Duality: bigger blast radius + bonus damage.
  • Holy Duality: converts into an ally-focused heal burst instead of pure damage.
Translation: More reliable, more thematic, and far less “why didn’t that work?”
