So why dosent he just update the SVN to the same as his files now & let us work on them if he's not going to?
AND GIVE SERVERS CONTROL OF THEIR OWN CONTENT !? ...

This thread says it all ... TD wants control of private server content .. frm day 1, I was telling people to ignore TD totally and just continue with the SVN ... TD not releasing the source created the whole dispute which crippled the SVN down to its current state ...
The sad thing is .. the SVN files are not THAT bad ... Its just people are so discouraged from the events surrounding :
A) How TD took the files - added fixes , then retained the source ...
B) How for some reason the admin here allowed TD to continue on here unhindered ...
It'll be a BLAST when somehow , some super-hero , somewhere .. gets TDs source .. and posts it all over these forums .. totally screwing over all his plans for control ..
Then people find some nasty backdoor hidden in it and say "wow DS was right ALLLL along"

why wud he put in all effort and release it if no1 else worked on it, people have the chance to work on them but dont they just wait for oters to release files tbh

We have control of our own server and have done for some time, you misjudge TD greatly, he has passion for mir and he llikes low rate servers.
No doubt he would rather like to see the work he has done used on servers that he himself would like to play, remember he owes no one anything and he does not get paid for the hours he spent working on them.
Having a view on how your work is used is not a crime, It saddens me also that high rate servers get high user counts even when some have less content and features than a lower rate server.
Many players are blinkered by levels and items they want everything now and sadly this is why HR is more popular.
tbh doesnt any1 remember how the server files was obtained in the 1st place it wasnt like wemade gave them to the world and said here create all the pservers you want. LMAO ppl call other ppl thieves thats funny coz we are actually all thieves in some sence - dont you agree ?
Not totally as they were only binaries at one point until some group from china coded everything im guessing.
So they have been coded years ago and last year was the only time we managed to get the code in england.

lol after reading TDs post i dont think i want his updates. As Kill said at the start of the thread, he wants servers to go his own way. If he dont like med stat, there is always mir revenge.
Cant complain about the user count on that. They got 200+ users on average

Even if he never intends to play Mir again or touch the files again .. he won't EVER ... EVER ... release his source code ...
Why? because it will kill him to allow you to have more control over your own server ... than he does.
And RageZone Lowrate is a shining example of TDs vision of mir ...

I mean its really tempting to take the SVN files are try code a bit. I know Im not good enough at all to do have the stuff but it would be nice for us to have something to work on.
iam thinking the same glen, iam not much good at the code but iam willing to learn and commit.
I think if td is not going to release to people other then the servers he wants to we will be in the same position we were before ie waiting for the chinese to release binary updates, i personally think thats NOT the way we need to be going again.
on another note:
rz is miles infornt of the current release from td as he has given them the source code for his files, and he has coded custom things to there files already, and as for the "updates for low rate only"
rz have or are going to have a 2.3 high rate server which will obviously have open source for them and the latest updates that you seem to want to stop us from having, i know this is your project etc and you dont get payed for your work and i do apprecite the work you have put into the files but in one hand you say you hate high rate servers etc and you dont want to update them etc, but in the other hand you have rz hr 2.3 that are going to or are using your files, selfish imo.

I dont know much about delphi atall , but generally things can be trial + errorred until you work out the kinks ... So i'll be giving the SVN a twirl and seeing if I can make ANY progress atall ...
bare in mind the sad thing is ... Most people arent asking TD for anything special ... Just a few code snippets that fix some of the **** thats broken on the SVN ... that would take him what??? all of 10 minutes????

Have only read the first page of this thread but.
I play euro mir at the moment, and the current event of snowmen giving out 10 100 1,000 10,000 or 50,000 exp each mob, with 50k exp being quite rare ish, allows you to make lvl 40 within a 1-2 week time period.
I think by making the server 5x is as fast as it needs to be, thats 25k exp from every pb monster. So lets do a little maths.
a lvl 40 player on euro gets around 0.50% from a 50k exp snowman. Proof, as im currently leveling up my 40 tao.
So, 400 Past Bichon mobs roughly, is the same exp needed from lvl 40-41.
For a wizard doing 5 of those a time in a lure, well they can make 40-43 in a days work to be totaly honest.
A warrior can take a pb monster down with a tao with red poison in around 5-10 seconds. So thats half exp as its split with a tao. But its still mighty fast leveling.

Stats - Well like iv explained above in short, wizards wars and tao's all have a way of leveling pretty fast with the stats already on euro mir, so even by turning the stats up by 5x then you'll have killing 5 times faster in pb.
= 40-45 in a good days work.

I have to agree totaly with what TD is doing, high rate servers ruin mir. When you achieve level 42-43 on euro mir, a post on the forums is made, congratulating them because its a achievement still, high rate servers is killing this.
Just think by turning the exp up 5x is enough to make Mir that little bit more enjoyable to play.

not being nasty ere TD but why is it that some server owners have bug problems when using ur files? i mean look at evilmir server ..the guild bug that boots ppl when rebootin server and the problem with booting ppl from guild ...when trying to boot ppl from guild you get message ...(cant change rank blah blah ) but guild emblem works fine... and chat dialogue is just a bubble but if you move mouse of players and npc's it works fine ....as i said im not sayin ur files are useless ...keep up good work for all servers :P
