I don't think it should charge 10k personally. I think the commission fee is enough to remove gold from the economy (and it actually scales). Charging 10k to list an item that may not even sell is inconsequential for people with a lot of money selling a big item, but less so for someone trying to sell a few uncommon items for 20-30k or so. Whilst some people have made a decent amount of cash by now, I would definitely say most people still fall into the former category (myself included I'll admit), measuring their wealth in 10ks and 100ks rather than millions. If you're really trying to scrape together money in the first place, it's a bit offputting to have to risk 10k on an item that may not even sell - and in these early days of the game it's hard to know what actually will.
If the idea is to discourage these "cheap" items being listed at all then fair enough, but I would have thought that, especially at the moment, those items comprise most of the things being bought and sold and that we should be encouraging usage of the TrustMerchant, if anything.
