Everyone is assuming the books will be cheap,

If they cost 5 Mil then people still have to work for it, but they will have a steady progress towards it.
I'll just give a gold seller £50 or whatever it is and buy it then.

Skills are what define your charecter and role within an MMORPG.

Have certain Game breaking skills "rare" and your procurment on them based on "luck" is stupid.

Lmao, this is why I don't wanna see the level 40+ skills in shops because of the bots gold farming, another advantage gained.. Yes we will all be able to buy the skills eventually but after how long, weeks of farming? When they will have an advantage for weeks.

Should add book fragments to boss drops 1/300 or something including iwt etc for 41+ books and you need 3 of them to buy a level 41+ book as well as the gold

As people have said, up to level 40 skills, fine, anything higher, definitely not. If you put skills like Flame Field as a shop item you'll ruin the server very, VERY quickly.

FlameField with noob mc does nothing.

There's no point having only skills up to lv40 in shops.

I voted no but I am not 100% against the idea if it was done correctly, however I doubt that it could be implemented in such a way. The main reasons I voted no are the following,

- People have already spent MANY hours hunting rare skills for it only to be taken away from them within the blink of an eye, I don't have FF or Mirroring yet but there are people in game who do and should be rightly annoyed at such a change.

- The idea promotes laziness, people not wanting to put the work into their character, hiding behind the ruse of ''I don't have the time to play''. And for those that legitimately don't have the time are never going to reach the levels to make the skills worthwhile anyway.

- Just one less reason to hunt, skills as you pointed out are a traditionally dropped from mobs as it has always been a part of Mir. A very fun part I might add, I get more joy out of finding a rare skill rather than a rare item of equal tier, for example I would rather find FF over a Dragon Staff.

- PvP balance would be an absolute nightmare as already pointed out.

Those are my main reasons that came to mind on the spot. I don't see why you can't just add the skills into normal mob drops from ZT/ PB/ Foxes/ LostShip/ Frozen/ Jinchon/ Orcs/ Vipers at a rare rate but spread them out so they don't all drop in the same area. Eventually people will start getting books and over time the prices drop and filter into shop books, just like a lot of the skills already have.

This.

Though I can see the whiners as usual, winning.

Out of interest, what sort of % of people would have to win to sway your decision?

A substantially higher percentage than what there is at the moment... With the current split decision, the decision to keep the same would win.

Can you reply to me on why you couldn't just implement them into the normal mob drops at a rare rate? People would be completely satisfied with this.

I think the book drops are mostly fine at the moment, could shave a few % of the drop rate of some of the 35+ books but nothing major, I'm 40 and the only books I don't have are 38+.

I haven't bought any books at all and have only been given entrapment, every other book has dropped for me including multiple 35+ books and I don't hunt bosses all that often, mostly just mobs in the higher level areas.

Off topic I know but for me the main issue lies more around the level of items between the level 37-40+ stuff and the level 23-25 stuff.

Dragon Rings, Platinum Rings and the same kind of item level as these should be more freely available, I'm fine with the likes of Power Rings, Titan Rings and above being rarer and Boundless Rings and above even rarer so. It's just sad seeing level 40+ people with shop kit or not much better, it shouldn't happen.

Yes, means it's down to the skill of the player and no what skills they have and don't have.

So you're anti fun then. As I said earlier, skills are integral to having fun, being high level and not having the skills is absurd. For me this decision will dictate whether I continue playing the server or not as I don't have the time to camp bosses 24/7 in the tiny hope of ever getting a book for my class drop, then winning the roll against everyone else who still needs it because the drop rates are so ****.

I think this would be a better option also, just not 1 in 600m chance of them dropping form an obscure mob on a map noone hunts lol. Mabye 4-5 times rarer then the current books that drop inside the mass drops, that way they should drop once a week or so.

Taking the higher level books out of drop files and implementing quests to obtain them would be pretty cool.

Whats wrong with increasing drop rates of books along with everything else that is lacking in the drop files?
