I believe entrapment is massively affected by luck. I recently inherited a luck4 weapon and I used entrapment, to my surprise it worked lol and then again 4 more times. I have never levelled this skill either. Before I got this luck 4 weapon(which I have now cursed :( ) I got sick of usin entrap just because it never worked.

As far as I know entrapment is just level based. Ie. the higher lvl you are in relation to the mob the better chance of working. The working % being bumped up would be real nice; saves war from flinching for more damage and less dura use so they can use better kits.

Chm is ok as long as you have 4+mobs, but also those mobs must either not hit you or hit very slowly or the flinching negates any benefit. Mainly ends up being used for low level mobs where there are not enough to make effective leveling. A massively mob filled zone with lower level mobs however would just be demolished by wiz doing nothing to help bridge the gap.

A toggle for slaying would be nice, not a game breaking change though and possibly more work than its worth for Sam and the team.

Male: I do find that flamesword gets cancelled on occasion when you get hit at the same time as you are about to begin swinging. I have found it quite rare though.

OK, so I solo quite a lot and my biggest grumbles are (in order):

The amount of MP used - I go through it llike beer on a night out - pay a fortune guzzle it down in no time and it all seems to have been pi**ed away as I've not gained that much exp. I expect leveling to be slower that other classes... but ouch :P And TDB now sucks the life outta my blue bar - I'd LOVE to see this reverted.

Bag weight - I'd like to see this increased somewhat - due to the amount of pots needed to solo it'd be nice if I could carry more without running like my toddler!!! Just take a look on the floors - the amount of stuff left due to full/heavy bags!!! I'd take a few extra slots for warrior as a bonus but the weight limit being upped would certainly help

Damage - I think im going crazy but I'm sure i still hit less that my min DC - The reason I think I'm crazy is I'm sue I read your code in a post somewhere....... Must get a screenie....

Trainers - I'd like to see a few more trainers added - preferaly in blocks so that all skills could be leveled - it's upsetting to see tao/wiz lvl all their skills afk Perhaps a map with balls(I'm sure there used to be a football mob :P) on mission to alwys return to set co-ords so entrapment can be lvl'd

As for Male's post above - WD mate - spot on with many good points.

Kai - I like the idea of slaying being a toggleable skill - would hel with it interrupting if it was turned off.

Talking to a few warriors in guild, and just one change would lvl the playing field in pvp. Make Entrap work on players :P

So waited all day at work to make a post about this just to get it right and go over everything on my mind about war issues i have.... Don't hate me to much yer?

So to start with



Bingo all round, Wars are lacking in some area's but are not that far behind all in all, tho we have alot of vocal moaners and people that are used to playing the dom class that arn't now.

Next is my opinion on skills and what could be changed to make them better, FYI i have a good memory so went trolling Sam... sorry again

Slaying



Correct its a pain even more so when useing CHM to randomly have mir go and just hit one of the 8 mobs around you, sometimes two or three times in a row and it normally leads to alot of pain.



Half right, it does not override FS but it DOES override TDB, can test this on a trainer easy to see yourself, even with a TDB charge you might still randomly throw out a slaying, which isn't a big issue untill you account how much mana is wasted by wars on a hunt down to this RNG.

Yup i wnet there... i know you hate this skill as much as we love it but this is a simple question/comment can we get it changed back to being able to hold the button down? all the change did was mean we now have to keep hammering a key every second and loss alittle mana to random slayings its not change the ammount we use TDB or the speed at which we use it.

But yes you can tell me to go and die if ya like given the pain this skill has given you.

Entrapment

After the bug fix to stop it pulling full lines of para'ed mobs this skill went from being a wars wet dream to a pointless waste of mana, its so unreliable now its not worth the mana to use i'll just body pull or run off to pull a cast away from a group of mobs its in.

Flaming Sword

It might just be me but this skill sometimes seems to missfire, takes the charge but does not use flamesword, might just be me tho has anyone else seen this?

Cross Half Moon

This skill i find to be useless, the damage in for the damage out is just to out of balance, i'll more then likely run off and re-pull or Lionroar the mobs if i can than use CHM to kill them, it fact the only place i use this is ST7th to kill bugbats.This could work, turning it into a form of war T-storm but i really don't see you doing this as its pushing to far into wiz land.

Blade Avalanche

A great skill and the cost is worth it (hits 9 targets, you hit all 9 and the damage from it is well above a TDB hit for 5 more mana at level 3) but the skill really isn't a good fit for wars as pointed out by the time you make a lure to use it to its full affectiveness and in a good area you could have just killed them one by one faster. That being said if you find a premade lure of none casters its insanly good.

That being said if you up CHM/BA damage i can't see them being used that much unless you re-make the skill some how to a point. Wars kill one by one... Thats what we do its what we are good at.

Just a few of the things on my mind about the class and skills.

Thats fine but i didn't know it had be changed to now allow slaying to interrupt it all i had to go on was a memory of comments you had made befor.

As for Entrapment i think you got the wrong comment there, i have level 3 if its working all the time for you what is it that are you doing right? i mean lionroar a mino at 45 100% dash him 100% entrapment? maybe 3/4 trys

Of course it does since its level based and likely your on GM or using it on mobs alot lower level than you are. I posted an answer to him already... Maybe you dislike my posts but I base them on testing, logic and experience on both classes both past and present. To me having numbers to say 'this is how it is' or 'this is balanced' is what will solve any complaining. Just doing testing by feel or without considering variables will bring further complaints and not simply because it may be wrong but because 'feeling it' is completely subjective.

Tdb is good, the one slight step we just did recently to change from holding to not holding didn't really do anything but hurt the 'holding' people more. It was already worse damage to hold the button anyway.

Come see mine it hardly ever works . unless on very low lvl mobs . make your character 46 and try pull a sword oma.

Anything it does pull 1st try there is no need to pull and kill in groups

Main issues and potential solutions.
Wiz vs warrior levelling.
I am not too worried about aoe leveling comparison, wiz aoes and warriors single target. Currently it is much faster for a warrior to kill single target rather than multiple(we have tried 2 warrior blade avalanching). The entire problem lies in TU. Rats, followed by archers(20 mil exp per hour) followed by the rest of the BDD mobs(40 mil per hour). Tao have an aoe ability(sure they are slower than this still but closer) whereas warriors need to slower kill things one at a time for a potential 10 mil exp per hour(tried both solo and group) this leads to a massive leveling advantage (not 10-20%faster rather 200%-400%)(to show that I am not making this up, this is the rankings in the game. top wiz and tao have between 4-5 billion total exp top warrior in the game currently has 1.2billion total exp, this is not a negligible difference)
Suggestions: Take some power out of TU, it both works more often AND casts faster than official.(this can be fine tuned and doesn't require massive rework) OR increase damage done on yellow TDB poison(again can be fine tuned and neither affect pvp)
OR remove some AC and inherent defense from orcs allowing warriors to kill there faster but having no change on the other classes(again can be done tuned and doesn't change pvp)

Second major issue
Wiz can tank warrior damage
I have luck 6 and 70+ DC, speed +7 and have spent time siting beating on wiz while being flame fielded for extended periods of time and they don't die. This isn't a skill thing(they are not moving). I am ok with not 1 shorting a wiz, but if I cartch them not moving they should die every time. You said it Sam that they have low HP and should die easily, glass cannon idea. Couple options, lower the hp value added by items dark armor and five sting set. OR take some power out of Shield(can fine tune this no rework needed) OR as was suggested add a passive avoidance to magic for warriors OR reduce the cast time or delay for shield(has more impact on pve for wiz) OR increase the damage a warrior is able to do through shield

I think those are the two major issues most of the other ones are minor and can be addressed at any time.

So what about your post about wiz/tao being way OP? Now your here saying wars are fine, make your mind up, and like some1 alrdy say not all of us run around in 100+DC with high luck..

warriors are fine, they are not supposed to be able to kill multiple enemies at once, like wizards. they are a single target class. they can kill single targets quicker than a wizard can. I'm still not convinced that wizards level THAT much faster than warriors. There are plenty of high lvl warriors around, so it can't be that bad...

It's not only wiz tho isit? Taos are levelling alot faster then wars also, this was never the case, a Tao would ask a wiz or war to pair up and lvl, but on here wiz can lvl solo fast, Taos can lvl np just as fast, wars can... Oh wait not level as fast... You only have to look at the rankings to see this..

Thats not what i've heard. Theres a couple of taos in my guild that have complaining that lvling is painfully slow after 40

The only real issue for me is because mobs are so quick on here and flinch less than other servers it means us warrs take more damage then normal. Thus making it harder to level solo especially in places such as vipers.

Saying that, I'm level45 and I'm a really slow leveller so it can't be all that hard to level a warrior.

I have played all 3 classes. I do think something needs to be done with a Warrior, I havnt read the whole thread but the CHM/BA idea sounded good. Another reason wizzys are now levelling so quick is that for some reason Bene's have changed. You can basically get luck6-7 on any wiz wep in a week of boss hunting. Yet 300benes down the line my wsb is still luck3. I think that needs to be changed straight away. There is no +6lucked warrior weps but I could go to MW and find 10 wizzy weps all luck7. I would think as well the only way of fixing this would be make warrior weps easier to luck(like wizzys) because slowing down the rate for everyone would screw warriors over even more. There doesn't need to be any extreme changes with warriors though. The supply for warrior items is much higher as there is allot more people playing warriors. Therefore making there equipment harder to get so everybody isn't levelling in +3 dc kit all over. Where as u look at the high lvl taos and they all have top added kit. I don't know any tao who is high level who has solo'd there way there. So saying Taos are easy to level is just stupid there probably on the same par as wizzys.
