If you are worried about 2-3 large guilds owning the server, why don't all of you down trodden casual players make your own guild(s) and take the fight to them when you are online?
I don't play, so speaking with ignorance but surely it is better to get together and do something about it than to have 2-3 hours of un enjoyable game play followed by a few days moaning on the forums?

They can't do anything about it because the top guilds have all the skill books and gear, the point he is making is that there is an increasing divide between the top guilds and lower tier guilds/solo players and this divide will not decrease without some kind of intervention from the GM's. Unfortunately without intervention you will see 1 or 2% of the player base having 90% of the wealth and the majority of the casuals will lose interest and leave (as most people have probably seen in the majority of private servers to date).
When on a hunt with a group to a higher cave, playing as a mage, I feel the like the spare leg, the single man at the dance. In orcs say, I'll watch warriors and sins cut through multiple mobs like butter with their lighting fast power attacks, while I'll be still killing my first orc with my slow dogshit FD attack..
While I agree the "casual players" don't have it too well atm, is this really the case? I will first state, more time you put in, more you get out of the game - this much is true of any game, but more so in Mir.
As time goes by, spells only drop in price. Unlike items, they cannot be dropped. I can tell you now, even the top guilds aren't even fully skilled. Curse10 for example are missing multiple FlameFields, PoisonClouds, blizzards, backstabs, Glacials, FirePhoenix's... so on, I'm sure the same is said for BombSquad.
So if WE'RE struggling to skill up our guild, you guys most definitely will be... but that will inevitably change when we do get all our spells. Then we start selling them, as does BombSquad, as do others, and eventually books get cheaper and cheaper because they're dropping and less and less people require them.
Now if we're talking about items, that's an entirely different story. But aside from maybe 1 or 2 players ingame (literally) "items" right now are all just 37-40 euro kit gemmed up to +2/+3's with added slots on them - anyone can achieve this, it's really not difficult with a bit of effort put in, just look at a few of TheMob's guild, they're not exactly huge but have a fair few members very well gemmed up.
Given enough time I think you guys will start seeing more spells. I will have to admit though I think the lack of level 42 to 45 spells dropping from Euro bosses and/or very rarely from mobs is worse than I've ever seen it on any other server. The spells we top guilds should be chasing for are 48+, and we are (with little to no luck), but at present rate you guys will literally never see a single one of those spells and perhaps that's an issue that the GM's can address in future patches.
This thread has in some ways gone off topic, so here's me. This game was meant to play like a nostalgia Mir2 game and failed on week one. Remembering all the moaning posts about wars and Taos being too weak and not be able to level fast as the other classes. Myself believed it was always best to wait until the game had settled until the moaning threads had started. But now we see warriors on steroids and Tao's pets that can tank most bosses and poisons that last longer than an ice age. And now it's been done, theses no going back.

In orcs say, I'll watch warriors and sins cut through multiple mobs like butter with their lighting fast power attacks, while I'll be still killing my first orc with my slow dogshit FD attack. And that's another thing, why has the gale kit been doubled?
Apart from good at helping people lvl in CC, mages have a worst dmg single attack spells, **** taming pets (why has taming been implemented into the game?). **** clone spell, slow attack speed, little health, little defence, useful books out of reach to many mage players, spell range bullshit, frosty crunch that has been tweaked to the point of useless and mages struggles to solo some of the easiest of bosses. But there aint too many complaints about the mage, because hardly anyone is left playing them.

I often look at them on the floor if that's what you mean?
But to be fair, it's hard to see any of you from way up high on this pedestal i've built. :saturn:
Tbh, just needs to up the book drops from euro bosses and maybe some of the harder to get to subs. Rarely do the top guilds go here unless ALL the big bosses are dead, so it'd be a decent means for you guys to get your 42+ books.
Is that the pedestal built of wealthy Arabs or winning personalities? :topsy_turvy: :greedy_dollars:
Would this really help fix the clear disparity between a few guilds and the rest of the server though? Surely it would just go the same way in which caused the problem in the first place. Maybe I'm just being short-sighted.
I mean, yes in terms of skills? No in terms of time played because... I don't see in what universe a guild that plays 2hours a day beats a guild that plays 10hours a day. It just won't happen, there'll always be something they are ahead in (levels, kit). The best you can do is give the casuals the tools to fight back, and hope that's enough. As it stands now, those tools (spells) don't exist for you. I'm not saying make all spells freely available, that would negate any hardwork put in by others. I'm saying make them drop more often from the bosses that casual players go to kill.
A 2 hour a day guild should never beat a 10 hour a day guild that would just be extremely stupid. I'm not sure why people think that is being implied..
The rest I agree with but unsure wether It's an actual fix or plaster over an axe wound at this point.
I'm level 44 and find it hard to exit the SZ due to knowing right now all I'm going to get is % and that is it. There is near on 0 chance I'm getting any item or book worth selling or using and many more people are in the same boat. How drops are on here at the moment you're pretty much forced to join either BombSquad or C10 to get a look in.
Without being snide I'd rather find another road to go down in terms of progression than put up with some of the people who ruin and take the fun out of everything every day for the sake of a few items. In BS anyway, I can't talk for C10. I'd rather just not play because right now there is no other option to take.
That is what the/my issue is, not to 'compete' with the top guilds and get the best gear but to at least get a foot in the door and have an incentive to carry on hunting and logging on to some form of progression.
Again just my personal thoughts. Let's hope whatever Diablo has in store for us bridges the gap a little and gives us a reason to keep logging in.

Join WeekendWarriors... that's precisely why I made it. I played solo for 40 levels because upon observing the existing guilds let's just say they weren't for me.
We're now the 3rd biggest in game but without the type of people you just mentioned.
