I don't really understand why you think a full wipe/relaunch would help. Who wants to play the low levels all over again? That's dull enough as it is let alone on a server you've already played once before.

Relaunch with new content/zones would appeal to alot of people especially with the x8/x3 exp rate. Can't really see many returning otherwise. Not sure the new content is doable though as it felt like the server team struggled to maintain what they had before without adding more to work on.

I think people are voting for a wipe expecting a complete rework of the server, not just play again from level 1 as it were. So much they need to improve that this would probably be their only way back to 200++ users, and releasing a year from now or something.

I think you’re at the point of no return, there’s no ‘call it a day and close the server down’ option.

Everyone is going to be biased on what they want. My view on option four is that there were no bugs that affected lvling, and most of the bugs affected gold profiting, so why restart lvls?

In my opinion, have lvl40 as the base lvl. That way new players can kick right into the fight.

I also do not like players to lose all their items, so let them keep them (current items will be eventually out lvled if the server survives). Just wipe all gold and everything in all the warehouses. That way everyone keeps their best kit (only one).

None of the poll votes will be carried out and there certainly won’t be a patch.

Let it go boys.

Which is what I said too..

Soon as I saw option 4 I knew it would be the most popular choice and I also knew they had no intention of going through with that so why even put it as an option?

As far as I can see no 'patch' is bringing back the usercount therefor very limited options, one being the fresh start hype.

Just a shame the staff lost interest as i know a few dont really care for the other server options atm and i could imagine a steady 50-70 playing if they communicated and sorted out a few problems, mainly getting rid of the gold and trying to rebuild the market as well as possibly adding a few higher level areas and exp boost for lower levels possibly.

Whats the point in making a poll if you aren't going to actually do anything about it?, You been talking about a patch that you have YET to actually release, your lack of communication is one of the problems with how you have run this server and what has helped it on its downward spiral, how do you expect to move forward if you still don't communicate with your players?, 2 weeks ago you started this thread and you still havent told anyone whats actually going to happen?

Reminds me of euro Mir.. One day, staff given up and just stopped caring.. shame.

Little to late now though, I'm not sure what they'll do or even can do to reconcile player relations/trust.

I couldn't think of a more ironic name for a server right now.
A flurrishing server that was put into an apocalyptic state due to a plague of bugs.

I don't play, but looking at the comments over the past few days I personally think your best bet is to restart the server.

Leave the current one online, increase drops or exp and do some fun events whilst you're working on the other.

Close server a few weeks before you're ready to drop the new one. Create some hype and bring the player base back.
I think this is the best option

Management.
Management isn't easy, specially on a Mir server, the Mir community is so different to other communities out there, things could have been made better by the Apoc team, I think this is a lesson for them to learn from.

Development.
I think peoples exceptions need to be lowered with regards to developing a set of files for a server.

Mir teams are small, the development teams are generally one or two people so to expect a bug free game from the start is a joke.. fixing said bugs is important no denying that but that doesn't mean it's easy nor is it quick (at least all the time lol), It's not like official games where there's a team of developers, a QA team and a good pool of people to test upcoming features/systems/changes, even then Official teams don't always get it right nobody can deny that.

Having a beta stage to 'test' things doesn't always result in these bugs being caught because some (if not most) people are normally too focused on where and what to hunt when they start, finding exploits for them selves, finding the strongest class in PvP and so on...

It is a shame how quickly Apoc went down hill had a lot of potential, I don't think either option would give it a new lease of life other than a complete rebuild of the content.

I agree with Pete here. People do expect these private servers to be on par with games that are released by fully managed teams.
There are so many factors to why servers just fall as fast as they rise. One of the biggest issues would be the community itself. People are just too greedy to be a honest player. They would rather take the exploit for themselves and let the server burn, just to gain an advantage over other players.

In a sense, I agree, but there's got to be a bit of give and take from both sides.

Most servers these days seem to be started for financial gain. Those are the servers that really have no excuse when they release clearly buggy patches.

Servers that are started for the love of the gametm and are worked on in spare time; you kind've expect things to slip through the cracks.

I fully agree that there are too many greedy players; but bugs like on apoc; if a bug is raised, do everything possible to resolve it. If it's a buggy cave... temporarily remove the cave until it can be investigated and resolved if needed. It was just simple mistakes where players would highlight an issue, but it wouldn't be acted upon.
