Rooney was seen in training yesterday, and was kicking a ball "as hard as he is capable of".

What i find depressing is the fact some of the better players are being overlooked cos of walcott and rooney. Look at Aaron Lennon, sure he's only as sub cos David Beckham is first choice, buts its been a long time since we had a replacement for Beckham that can shred defenses to ****

I think its a shame Beckham and Lennon wont be playing at the same time cos Lennon gets fouled loads outside the box, and beckham could put away the resulting free-kicks with ease.

Walcott looks good. Crouch is good, not brilliant, and works well with Owen.

The people who worry me are Sol Campbell, and Owen Hargreaves. 2 ****ing useless players.

I laughed when it was said they were overlooking beckhams position. And laughed harder after the friendly V hungary when he set up to good goals.

oh good god, any chance of being able to go anywhere without people moaning "oh dear god rooney is out we have no chance now" you dont have a chance anyways...

And dear god someday you'll all get bored of mentioning 1966 - it has no ****ing relevence, yes you won it there but none of those players play anymore, so its stupid to keep going on about it

Rooney will not make us win. but will be a great help. with rooney we have the best all-round team deffinetely. the only reason people are saying brazil will win is because they have the worlds best player ronaldinho. but 1 man doesnt make a team.
England :
neville, ferdinand, terry, a. cole, j.cole, lampard, gerrard, rooney and 3 other 'world-class' players. but those 8 are all up the top of the worlds best.

England is the strongest team for midfielders imo.

Some Brazilian players are too old (Carlos for example), they're not certain to win.

i think without rooney we can still go far.

crouch and owen seem to working together quite well, and iv never been a big fan of beckham, but dam he can put some good balls in the box.

The midfield is VERY good, gerrard and lampard and so fourth....

Defence isnt bad at all, really cant complain highly about any of them.

I wouldnt complain about one player being in our team.

It would be nice to have rooney, but that doesnt change how rooney and owen would work together.

i believe they should leave rooney of for first few matches to make sure he's fine.

Im sure through the first two matches agaisnt the crap teams in our group we would be perfectly fine with owen and crouch.

Sweden may be a trouble for us as they have been in the past, but look at our team damit, we have a excelent team on paper, just wished the players worked together in the england team as they do in their individual teams.

For instance - Gerrard doesnt do half as good for england as he does for liverpool.

I rate Campbell more than i rate Ferdinand. I trust Campbell more.

You done mention Brazils players because you dont know them, but mention England players because you do know them.

Ronaldo - Still got it, still a massive threat.
Ronaldinho - Speaks for its self
Kaka - Absolute fantastic player
Carlos - Still a great player. Not very good defensivley... but Brazil dont, and never have concentrated on Defence.
Cafu - Old, but again certainly not passed it. A great leader to keep team spirit up. Do you think he would be playing for Milan if he had lost it? Nope, they could easily buy someone else.
Ze Roberto - A great player who i am not surprised to see at a team such as Chelski, man Ure, barca, Arse.
Adriano - Absolute world class, will rip any team to shreads.
Robinho - As good as rooney, and around same age.

Quite funny how the best player seems to switch :P

1st they think they would lose without Beckham
2nd i think it was Owen for some reason =/

now they think they will lose cause of Rooney, lmao wtf it's 1 man, all the other players have a part aswell, Rooney can't solo the whole pitch himself, if he could, it would be a different story, but without the rest of the team Rooney would be as **** as any other player.

Next thing u know it will be that teenager who plays.

I didnt list brazil's team as i was only trying to show how strong englands team is this year. but just for you i will edit your very own list:

Ronaldo - not aloud in world cup as hes too fat and injury prone (so ive heard) if he is in world cup he's past it now
Ronaldinho - Speaks for its self - agreed
Kaka - not fantastic. about joe cole's level
Carlos - too old to play against a full english team (as we are all young(ish)) and he's used to slower football
Cafu - same as Carlos. He is playing for milan as the italians play a slower game than english.
Ze Roberto - Half decent player.
Adriano - very good player. Brazils 2nd :)
Robinho - fairly good player. under-rated. class
