if you could buy professional mir hosting - everyone would be doing it - there'd be as many servers as hl2 gets

Dual CPU costs more $$$... like a lot more $$$. Not to mention Unless I am mistaken the mir servers/emulators are not multi threaded.

In my experience A64 seems to do better than P4 when hosting.

are you planning to host more than 1 mir servers on 1 machine? I don't remember how much cpu mir 1.4 uses but mir3 uses quite a lot of cpu/ram. dual or hyperthreading actually helped a lot.

Actually the monthly fee is a little over $100, as that $30 doesn't include a windows O/S, a firewall option, or a backup plan
