is anyone taking into consideration the effect this is gonna have on the economy?
Skills are what.... 15-20% of dropfiles and market? and a lucky drop can change your entire game and make you feel like a king!
I for one would not be a happy chappy with upto 20% of my gold being take out of my pocket due to people being able to buy skills from a shop rather then sourcing them from players.....
i depend on this money to buy my next lot of potions to go leveling........
Even the lower level skills sell for 20-50k in TM that all adds up to gold in your pockets.... if this vote pass's thats gold out of your pockets...
AND MINE!!!
PS, if the skills do become avaliable in shop, myself and all other players want gold refund on what ever we have alrdy spent on these skills.......
Dear Samuel,
Wrong idea, making them more likely to drop in the files is the only correct way to achieve the same goal. Mir has and always has been a game where you find items by grinding solo/in a group, as a guild, and rolling for rare drops.
Here's where you are going wrong:
In the original Euro mir, no items were available in the shop as such, it's the frequency of the drop which determined the item availability in the shop. Your shop systems are poor because they don't reflect items being sold to the shop.
For example in original mir someone could sell a hooked spear mc0-1 to the weapon shop in bichon wall, and only at the bichon wall npc was this item available, and you could purchase it back, sometimes extra dura necklace etc for crafting. Your shop however doesn't do this, therefore items that become more regular and frequent such as Decoy skill book is still unavailable in the shop WHILST everyone I know sells it to the shop for the 25k gold (saving time with TM sales).
The solution is this:
- Re-work the in game npc stores so that items sold to the shop are available to buy back by everyone see Euro Mir 1.4 files as a base line to the idea.
- Increase drop frequency for all skill books by 2/3x more likely.

I like the idea about going back to the old way of selling things to the shop, however to make this even remotely worthwhile there would need to be some editing along the following lines done otherwise its just going to be a case of every undercutting the book shop guy.
Increase the price at which the merchant buys certain books (35+ probably)
Make the sale price to the book merchant the same price as what he actually sells for, there is no use selling a book to the merchant for 50k only for him to then sell it on to the next player for 300k, all that would happen then is people would set a Q/S of 250-290k and not budge from it.
NO.
this is part of what makes mir unique. dont tinker with the fundamentals and fk things up. you did this once with anti wiz AI.
YOU already have the power to sort this to a certain extent with the drop files, you made low lvl books too rare to start with.
if you put all books in the shop why stop there? put all the fkin weapons in too and all the kit. We can go to bosses to have a BBQ and sing song.
putting books in shop at very high prices just feeds the gold farmers and irl prices. Theres still player who cant hunt without cashing ffs, how they buy a book? black market economy.
if you want all skills as soon as you lvl, every other mmo does it for you. its not mir...
Some form of increasing the availability of skills would be welcome - however - you will have to rebalance some of these skills otherwise some classes will be very powerful.
I voted yes even though there's only 1 skill I need on my Archer coz it's half a class atm
It's impossible to balance classes when rare spells are part of the equation and anyone saying otherwise is basing their opinion purely on what gamers accepted as being ok 12 years ago. MMOs have evolved since Mir2 Eu and so have the majority of gamers.
I would however suggest a compromise involving having to quest and perhaps even craft items for said quests to obtain the rarer spells and thus forcing players to play/grind/earn rather than just having the option buy. A quest chain much like the fate/redmoon quests but on a much larger scale that involves grinding mobs, killing bosses, handing over gold, crafting, etc is a much more favourable idea IMO. You'd be giving everyone guaranteed access to these skills without taking away the need to play the game and without encouraging gold buying.
I'd also make the argument that it should take weeks and not days to level the higher level skills, increasing the necessary skillpoints significantly.
A big NO from me... Personally i think you would lose more players from the server who would quit because of gold they have spent on skills and time they have hunted for them.
