Thanks for the ideas for the shorcut keys mir2pion I'll use that as a guide for now and if anything needs changing later it is not much of a problem to change any of the keys
Having used the scroll bar to navigate the map I also agree the wasd is needed as the scroll bar gets you in the general...
In a day or two when I get a chance to mess with the files for a few hours I'll start doing what you have suggested and make a start with just updating the buttons at the top and assigning a shortcut to everything (I'll put the map panel back in its original tab for now) ... did someone say they...
I do still want to keep the map fullscreen so don't worry about that... the side bars would be resizable so shouldnt cramp up the screen but I might just stick to having the tool buttons along the top similar to how they are now (although different) I started making it as a left side panel but I...
I will be looking into making that whole screen work in a different way... I have a few ideas I want to try that may or may not work
A search function? with tags assigned to objects?... so you might have tags such as sand, grass, stone linked to one object and you can filter the results to only...
I've been messing with the code for the map editor a little bit today... and trying to change the layout so it works differently (takes much longer than I thought it would to add a few features)
Added a couple of buttons in a "Tool" panel that is supposed to work similar to how it would in a...
I think I know what you are talking about here... is it when you paste an object in an area with no other overlapping front images it works perfectly fine but then placing the same object overlapping where previous front images are it sometimes adds seemingly random tiles?
seems that when it...
that would be me lol... I just thought the grasping function was like an area select that highlighted the area you wanted to work with and then when pressing the save object button it would only save the area highlighted as an object rather than saving the whole map... thats how I pick objects...
thanks for the reply... I just took a look at the auto tile blending I didn't know that was already a feature but I see it does work pretty well so that is really cool
custom blends was something I originally wanted to do but like you said it would only benefit the few times you may need to use...
What sort of features would make the map creator programme better?
When Jamie was making the map maker for Zircon and showing it off I liked the way the cliffs could just be painted into place creating large areas in seconds... (although I wasn't exactly sure how he did it) and the background...
This is not 2.5D then... I still like the images as they look different and more high res than normal
if using the 3D models to create the images you could make a ton of new content even if it is pre rendered for the game and not technically 2.5D
Interesting to me for sure
I like 2.5D because it opens up a lot of possibilities to make new content and interesting effects in a way you cant really do with pre rendered images
I can't wait to get my hands on mir 3D models
I like the idea of adding the skin to an account wide library by destroying the original weapon... I would go around collecting all skins so I had them all unlocked
Armour Upgrade - Something to allow adding stats to Armour, Helmets, and Boots to make them a little more unique... maybe break down items into materials (cloth, thread etc...) then break down added stat items to gain upgrade patches with different stats and tiers which can be used to upgrade...
If you can create a 3D model you can render it from the 8 directions and use the resulting images to create a monster... just a case of setting up the cameras and getting it to look decent with lighting, textures, etc..
Shadows can be a little more tricky... you can either do it the Mir3 style...
Ahh right I read that about people being able to use the maps as soon as you uploaded your client but didn't connect it to the reply about creating the new map type
I would suggest at least moving the order the variables are saved (and loaded) to confuse people trying to load the maps in their...
I just read most of the thread so I could see if I could offer any help...
Glad you seem to have figured out how to solve the flower in front of player problem, but instead of cutting the tiles into single tiles could you not just place the image on the different cell to account for the offset...
How about keeping the bosses as they are so the guilds can pvp for them multiple times per day and still have pvp fun/ gain rewards... actually would be good to make even more pvp trigger areas so they have more to do while they are waiting for respawns
...but maybe add a fairly rare item drop...
I've never played any version of WoOOL before so would like to give it a go
The only experience I have with WoOOL is that I have downloaded the official client recently and taken a look at a ton of nice weapons, armour, monsters and map tiles/objects I want to convert over to mir :) ... some of...
