The actual column level in HL_monster has no function. You could if you wish set every monster at level 1,
The dc, mc, etc settings will make a difference of course. Plus you need to reload monster database if you make any changes to see the effect online.
Just read a bit about VB and, I may be way off base here, if it hosts other operating systems isn't it another layer in a system that has to be got through to host a server so don't you have to allow a servers external connection through it in some way?

If you set up a loopback adaptor then you need to either use it or delete it.

I mean the gates images must be in correct mon file to work. There are several mon file positions that cannot be used as normal mon file and have to be used a certain way.
If you spawn it as a pet, regardless of it's attack, it should follow the player anyway.
Spawn like a rental pet but with a 12 hour time limit or something of that degree.
