ATI is a very professional company.
thats true, but i believe nVidia are much more professional and have the potential to put ATI out of business if they choose.

NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420 is my current Gfx card. How bad is that? And how do I know of a better one?

It's a pretty bad card, are you looking to buy a new one, and if so how much are you spending?

Ati 9800 ultra

only cards in that range were the 9800 xt/pro/np/se

i believe nVidia are much more professional and have the potential to put ATI out of business if they choose.

Seriously now, if they had the power to do so they would have already done it, however, as both ATI's reputation before nvidia, and its track record at having the best cards for years over nvidia, imn going ATI

no :) they are smart by keeping their rival around.

/edit, if ATi are so good and better than nVidia, then why isnt ATI winning this poll? :)

Because the half of you wouldn't know a good video card if it bit you in the ass

Now, once again, lets look at history:

Nvidia TNT series: Top of the line
Geforce SDR: Top of the line
Geforce 2 series: Top of the line
Geforce 3 series: ATI Radeon 8500 edges out as best card
Geforce 4 Ti series: ATI Radeon 9700 beats the crap outa nvidia
Geforce FX series: ATI 9800 beats the crap outa nvidia
Geforce 6x00 series: 6800GT edges out sometimes* on X800pro, 6800UE is dead on tied with X800XTPE

Now, all this is especially considering that ATI should have a better driver set for opengl. And that is why i voted ATI.

exactly. they "should" have better driver set. but they dont. which is why i like nVidia more.

and I do know a good gfx card when I see one, indeed ATI might be on top at the moment, but nVidia have lead for so much longer in the gfx business and have a much better rep, which makes nvidia better imo.

thats right they "should" for OPENGL and even atm they still kickass.

Lead so much longer? did you not read the above post? for the past 3 card generations (exactly the same time ATI got into heavy gaming) ATI has lead in the top card spot. And better rep? I would think ATI def has the better rep, Nvidia just has a few pc cafes with their crap fx line.

This isn't a tech forum in the slightest, and people vote when in reality they they have no idea :spoke:

For the record, SLI is nothing compared to what ATI will unleash soon.

Nvidia's businesses practices are childish, their cards overpriced and overhyped, and until recently they lied to their customers.

ATI is by far the better company, and also the more experienced.

Just wait for something we like to call the R520....
