if he cant even find the dm2 files, in the section called dm2. then how could he possibly setup delphi and svn? lol.
Half the english members on the forum dont have a clue we have an open source section
They dont know we have a set of server files with nearly everything upto 2.3 done and working (and it saves your char info :P )
So I understand why this person cant find it

not to tread or nice shoes , but ...
With Open Source , doesnt peoples inability to correct the mistakes they create by adding features create inconsistent bugs?
Ie : Arent the DM2 Files although full of additional features over Ledu ALSO full of Bugs that are yet to be fixed???
Just a question...??? ^_^
the lomcn project has got basically very few bugs due to people reporting them & the quick fixing by the codersnot to tread or nice shoes , but ...

You make it sound like there aren't bugs in non-open source projects - not true.
There always has and always will be bugs, it's finding and fixing them.
We have a good team and so far we haven't suffered.
Ahh Ok , thnx for answering my questions .
So why is it then that DM2 is as of yet unsuccessful??
I mean , yah theres a Test server n all , but , there are no ACTUAL servers running using DM2 are there???
Doesnt that then make it pointless? Why dont hosts use the DM2 files then???
Theres obviously a reason for this?? I would just like to know it , as all that is ever said about DM2 is that its like the best thing since sliced bread .. however no hosts are using the files ... it doesnt make any sense in my book unless the files are flawed in a way that outweighs the benefits??
o_O
existing plumewind player/character databases are incompatible is why there arent more.Ahh Ok , thnx for answering my questions .

at this point development is still going on so there's almost daily updates, every time we change something major it means the char db has to be wiped (since we arent bothered with coding db convertor programs yet, why bother if this is only test version)
so it's kinda pointless to use as a public server atm![]()
Considering it's open source , won't that always be the case then?
and surely there is SOME way to convert existing plumewind chara/player DBs over ... And also I agree , DM2 has not had enough exposure ... but that is largely to blame on the fact that development will ALWAYS be ongoing on an open source project , and people are interested in "Final Builds" , if you get what i mean...
Anyway goodluck with the development etc , Personally i think you guys are working Magic. Just a shame Hosts only see a good deal if it slaps them in the face , house visits anyone? :P
The whole aim is of the lomcn_project is to get the files up to offical standard Once thats done the binaries and such will be released as a proper everything included server file release (Much like the original 1.4 files)
Yes it will still be open source but the coding will be left to server owners themselves not the lomcn_project team
when mir release 2.4 will the coding team update to that?
also will the team go back to coding snippets in the DM2 forum to be inserted into the 2.3 code?
