A hard cap would never be good, the players hitting the cap would lose so much motivation.

48 is a soft cap anyway 820m exp to get 49.

On WoW the majority of the userbase hit max level, this is much different to Mir and if you remove the ability to level people will get bored.

If there was a lot of endgame content and stuff to keep the level 50's entertained like dailies and some kind of progression system it may work but in it's current state it won't end well.

Yes for a few weeks after each lvl cap is raised the top players will jump ahead but as lvl caps are raised new caves are introduced therefore making is much easier for the Catcher uppers to catch up. They will get the same exp as the people at the cap get but they get it much faster in the new caves. This method keeps the playing field fairer for longer. i have a different idea about levelling that i am suggesting to the team tonight. Iv always HATED the rebirth system, starting again for some new stats.... YUK! but what about a system, that allows you to have 2 separate EXP bars? one is a stat leveller that unlocks at level 40+ and whilst your normal EXP level continues as usual, you have another exp bar that starts from scratch (once obtained) and this will increase, and per level there will be different class/character rewards, almost like an achievement system but for free and natural whilst normal levelling, it just means you dont have to do anything different, but instead of just focusing on the 1% an hour, you have a seperate bar that moves considerably quicker and offeres something and makes your time feel worth while.

Now obviously this sounds JANKY and horrible, i havnt explained this well, nor have i talked features, but this is just something to motivate players who only like boss killing, to do something else, and it will not be game changing at all, meaning those who just want to get to their level then stop and boss hunt, wont miss out if they choose not to take this route.

Just an idea.

No dan that don’t sound janky. It sounds great. This will allow each person to take an individual path for they’re character depending whether they like pvp play. Pve play bosses or lvling. Every char will be unique. Crons had the facility for this but it never got implemented. Hard lvl cap then u work on ur stat lvling

Both ideas are great but the latter will need a lot of thought into what stat gets capped at what etc etc

Like a skill tree. I believe however this should be implemented from the word go and each level up you earn extra skill points. Obviously the higher level you become, the higher amount of skill points you obtain and thus the stronger your skill tree. Skill points can also randomly drop from monsters/quests (not bosses) allowing everyone to have varied skill points and skill trees.

You could make it so that you have skill trees for things like gold gain, health/mana increases, power increases and certain other boosts such as crit damage etc.

Now that idea if implemented correctly would be a game changer.

Well this is amazing news, i had no idea hany had this already? meaning a huge chunk of the copde is done,

I was thinking much larger than this though, stats can get out of hand like u said, but perhaps offering pathways, with different benefits, that can be changed daily based on what your doing that day or something along those lines, who knows yet, lots to talk about, knowing that hany has something like this already in the code means this could be done Very quickly.
