    Aye, been looking towards some new ram. That's why i was looking towards the GeForce 6600 series. They're priced (aparently) between $100 and $140, which winds up pretty damn cheap here in the UK. I also looked at the ATI Radeon x600 series, but the GeForce 6600 series looks to be the better...

    Yeah, but your eye operates at 72 hertz. So technically, the game is moving slower than your eye. For me, a game isn't smooth until it stays 80+ FPS. Of course, if Id had chosen to use DirectX, i'm sure they'd be nearing that marker....

    Doom 3 vs Half Life vs Halo 2

    HL2. Haven't seen a game which will match it. Doom3 gets real boring real fast. Halo2, graphically, will be, by default, inferior. That's what happens when you release what would be a good game on a console with all the power of a GeForce 4.

    You need a Netgear 108mbps adapter. The problem is that each company implement their own form of these connections, which is always a kick in the teeth. Usually, buying the same brand gets around this problem.

    Run scandisk, you may have harddisk errors. Then run Disk Defragmentor. If you still keep getting problems, it may be that you have some spyware or a virus on your PC.
